Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in St. Louis, Missouri. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Background Cardinal Ritter Prep opened on September 6, 1979. It is named for Cardinal Joseph Ritter, Archbishop of St. Louis in the mid-20th century. From 1977–1978, a community representative task force was established by the Board of Catholic Education of the St. Louis Archdiocese to study the future existence of a Catholic school in the old Labouré location in North St. Louis. Arrangements to establish Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School as a co-educational college preparatory high school began in August 1979. On May 18, 2003, Cardinal Justin Rigali dedicated the new Cardinal Ritter Preparatory High School adjacent to the Saint Louis University campus. The school opened for students in August 2003. Jameson Williams
Jameson Demetri Williams (born March 26, 2001) is an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Ohio State before transferring to Alabama in 2021, where he was named an All-American. Williams was selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Early years Williams was born on March 26, 2001, and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School and played for their football team. As a junior, Williams caught 36 passes for 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns and returned three kickoffs for touchdowns. Jahidi White (born February 19, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the NBA. Basketball career Jahidi White attended high school at Cardinal Ritter College Prep. While at Ritter, White teamed with future Duke University player Chris Carrawell, and ex-NBA player Loren Woods. He subsequently attended and played basketball at Georgetown University, where he played with Allen Iverson and Othella Harrington, two other future NBA players. He was drafted in 1998 in the 2nd round (43rd overall) by the Washington Wizards. In 2003, Washington traded White to the Phoenix Suns for Brevin Knight and, in the following season, he was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in the expansion draft, and waived in February 2005. Chris Carrawell (born November 25, 1977) is a retired American professional basketball player who is best known for his All-American college career at Duke University. He is currently an assistant men's basketball coach under Jon Scheyer.
