Destination Canada, formerly the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC; french: Commission canadienne du tourisme (CCT)), was created in 1995 to promote tourism in Canada. It is a Crown corporation, wholly owned by the Government of Canada, which reports to the Minister of Small Business and Tourism and the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. Statistics Canada conducts a country-wide census that collects demographic data every five years on the first and sixth year of each decade.
