Canada At The 2019 Pan American Games
Canada competed in the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019. In November 2018, two time Olympian in rowing Douglas Vandor was named as the team's chef de mission. On July 23, 2019, it as announced that field hockey team captain Scott Tupper would be the country's flag bearer during the opening ceremony. After winning five medals for a second straight games, artistic gymnast Ellie Black was named as the country's flag bearer during the closing ceremony. Canadian athletes competed in 35 of 39 sports, with the exceptions being basque pelota, bodybuilding, football and roller sports. Canadian Olympic Committee
The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC; french: Comité olympique canadien) is a private, non-profit organization that represents Canada at the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It is also a member of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO). Football At The 2019 Pan American Games
Football competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held from July 25 (the day before the opening ceremony) to August 9. The venue for the competition was the Estadio Universidad San Marcos, which seats up to 32,000 spectators. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams (each consisting up to 18 athletes) competed in each tournament. This means a total of 288 athletes competed. The men's competition was an under-22 level competition (born on or after January 1, 1997), with each team allowed up to three overage players. Equestrian competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held from July 27 to August 10. The venue for the competition is the Equestrian Club Militar La Molina. Diving At The 2019 Pan American Games
The diving competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima took place from August 1 to 5, 2019 at the Aquatics Centre. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and artistic swimming. The games featured competitions in ten events (men and women events each of): 1m springboard, 3m springboard, synchronised 3m springboard, 10m platform, and synchronised 10m platform. Cycling competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held at five venues across Lima. The Circuito BMX held the BMX racing competitions, the Pista de skateboarding held the freestyle BMX events. Morro Solar staged the mountain biking competitions, and the Circuito San Miguel staged the road competitions. Finally the velodrome staged the track cycling competitions. The BMX competitions started on August 7 and finished on the 11th (the last of the games), while mountain biking started on the 28th of July.
