Diving At The 2019 Pan American Games
The diving competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima took place from August 1 to 5, 2019 at the Aquatics Centre. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and artistic swimming. The games featured competitions in ten events (men and women events each of): 1m springboard, 3m springboard, synchronised 3m springboard, 10m platform, and synchronised 10m platform. The 1m springboard events returned to the program. The winner of each individual 3m and 10m event (if not already qualified) qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Diving At The 2015 Pan American Games
Diving competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 10 to 13 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Field House). Due to naming rights the arena were known as the latter for the duration of the games. Due to Pan American Games being scheduled to be held roughly around the same time as the 2015 World Aquatics Championships scheduled for Kazan, Russia, the diving begin on the day of the opening ceremony (when events are traditionally not held on the day of the ceremony). A total of eight diving events were held: four each for men and women. The winners of the four individual competitions, will qualify their country a quota place for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. If the host nation of the Olympics (Brazil) wins the event, the runner up will qualify instead. Kevin Berlín Reyes (born 25 April 2001) is a Mexican diver. He represented Mexico at the 2019 Pan American Games and he won the gold medal in the men's 10 metre platform event. Berlín and Iván García also won the gold medal in the men's synchronized 10 metre platform event. In 2017, he finished in 10th place in the men's synchronized 10 metre platform event at the World Aquatics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. Dolores Hernández
Dolores Hernández Monzon (born 21 May 1997, in Veracruz, Veracruz) is a competitive diver from Mexico. Hernández competed at the 2015 Pan American Games, where she won a gold medal in the synchronized 3 metre springboard event alongside Paola Espinosa, and a bronze medal in the individual 3 metre springboard competition. Jennifer Abel
Jennifer Abel (born August 23, 1991) is a Canadian former diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the same event with Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu. Abel is a four-time Commonwealth Games champion in the 1 m and 3 m synchronized springboard; and is also a three-time Pan American Games champion in the 3 m springboard and 3 m synchronized springboard. Paola Espinosa
Paola Milagros Espinosa Sánchez (born 31 July 1986) is a Mexican diver and represented Mexico at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she was her national team's flagbearer, and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In 1987, the Espinosa Sánchez family moved to La Paz from Mexico City with Paola, who was barely nine months old. In Athens in 2004, from speciality platform jumps of 10 meters, she placed in the individual jump and fifth in synchronized jumps. In the synchronized jumps, she participated with Tatiana Ortiz, who was also an Olympic medalist. Brooke Schultz (born January 20, 1999) is an American diver. She competed in the women's 3 metre springboard event at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships The 2019 World Aquatics Championships were the 18th FINA World Aquatics Championships, held in Gwangju, South Korea from 12 to 28 July 2019. High school career Having begun diving since 2004, her first major competitive accomplishments came in 2014 when she was named the NISCA All-American Champion, and that same year won 1st place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events at the 2014 Junior National Diving Championships, as well as the 1-meter event at the AT&T Senior National Diving Championships, and would be named team captain for the FINA World Junior Diving Championships. Kawan Figueiredo Pereira (born 17 June 2002) is a Brazilian diver. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics for Brazil. At the 2019 Pan American Games, he won a bronze medal in the Men's synchronized 10 metre platform. Nathan Zsombor-Murray (born April 28, 2003) is a Canadian diver in the platform (10 metre) events. Career At the age of 14, Zsombor-Murray made his World Championships debut in 2017, where he finished in fifth place in the mixed 10 m synchro event with Meaghan Benfeito. Michael Hixon (born July 16, 1994) is an American diver. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won the silver medal with Sam Dorman in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the silver medal with Andrew Capobianco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the same event. François Imbeau-Dulac (born 9 December 1990) is a Canadian diver. He began diving at the age of 9, and began competing internationally in 2006. In 2011 Imbeau-Dulac broke the Canadian record (held at the time by Alexandre Despatie) in the 1m springboard event. He competed in the 3 m springboard event at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
