Camp Gesher
Camp Gesher ( he, מַחֲנֶה גֶּשֶׁר) is a Jewish summer camp near Cloyne, Ontario. It is a member of the Habonim Dror Zionist youth movement and the Ontario Camping Association. Camp Gesher originated in 1963 as a member of the Dror Hachalutz Hatzair Zionist Youth Organization, a merger of Camp Revivim (serving campers from Ottawa and Toronto) and Camp Kissufim (serving campers from Montreal). Gesher was the first camp to test the merging of the Habonim and Dror Youth Movements in 1975. Cloyne is a small village in the township of Addington Highlands, Lennox and Addington County, Ontario, Canada. Summer Camp
A summer camp or sleepaway camp is a supervised program for children conducted during the summer months in some countries. Children and adolescents who attend summer camp are known as ''campers''. Summer school is usually a part of the academic curriculum for a student to make up work not accomplished during the academic year (summer camps can include academic work, but is not a requirement for graduation). Habonim Dror
Habonim Dror ( he, הַבּוֹנִים דְּרוֹר, "the builders–freedom") is the evolution of two Jewish Labour Zionist youth movements that merged in 1982. Habonim ( he, הַבּוֹנִים, "the builders") was founded in 1929 in the United Kingdom and over a period of years, spread to all English-speaking countries. Each country developed its own independent version of the original movement whilst sharing the core ideology of being a Jewish Socialist-Zionist cultural youth movement. Dror ( he, דְּרוֹר, "freedom") was founded in Poland in 1915 out of a wing of the ''Tze'irei Tziyon'' (Zion Youth) study circle. Hal Niedzviecki
Hal Niedzviecki (born January 9, 1971) is a Canadian novelist and cultural critic. Born in Brockville, he was raised by a Jewish family in Ottawa, Ontario, and Potomac, Maryland, did his undergraduate studies at University College, Toronto, and his postgraduate studies at Bard College. In 1995, he co-founded the magazine ''Broken Pencil'', a guide to underground arts and zine culture, and was the magazine's editor until 2002.
