Cambiamo!
Cambiamo! (, also stylized as C!) is a centre-right political party in Italy, led by Giovanni Toti. History Background and beginnings In June 2019, after the European Parliament election, Silvio Berlusconi appointed Giovanni Toti, president of Liguria, and Mara Carfagna, a former minister, national coordinators of Forza Italia (FI), with the goal of reforming and relaunching the party. However, after a few weeks, Toti left the party in opposition to Berlusconi, who had not endorsed Toti's proposal for open primaries, and launched Cambiamo!. The reasons of the split were FI's lack of internal democracy and lack of clarity on the alliance with the League and the Brothers of Italy (FdI) at country-level, which he definitely supported. In September four deputies (Stefano Benigni, Manuela Gagliardi, Claudio Pedrazzini and Alessandro Sorte) officially left FI in order to join C! 2020 Ligurian Regional Election
The 2020 Ligurian regional election took place in Liguria, Italy on 20–21 September 2020. It was originally scheduled to take place on May 31, 2020, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy. The result of the election was an absolute win of the incumbent President of Liguria, Giovanni Toti. Electoral system The Regional Council of Liguria is composed of 30 members, plus the president elect. The president elect is the candidate winning a plurality of votes at the election. Within the council, 24 seats are elected in provincial constituencies by proportional representation. The remaining 6 councillors are assigned as a majority bonus if the winning candidate has less than 18 seats, otherwise they are distributed among the losing coalitions. A single list must get at least 3% of the votes in a province in order to access the proportional distribution of seats, unless the list is connected to a coalition with more than 5% of the vote. 2020 Emilia-Romagna Regional Election
The 2020 Emilia-Romagna regional election took place in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 26 January 2020. The result was the victory of the Centre-left coalition (Italy), centre-left coalition and the confirmation of Stefano Bonaccini as President of Emilia-Romagna, with more than 51% of votes, nearly doubling the number of votes received in 2014 Emilia-Romagna regional election, 2014. The election was held concurrently with a 2020 Calabrian regional election, regional election in Calabria. Italy in the Centre ( it, Italia al Centro, IaC) is a liberal-conservative political party in Italy led by Giovanni Toti. History In August 2019, Giovanni Toti left his former party Forza Italia (FI), and formed Cambiamo! (C!). In May 2021, C! was a founding member of a new joint party named Coraggio Italia (CI), whose main leaders were Toti and Luigi Brugnaro, mayor of Venice. In less than a year, CI, which had failed to attract substantial support among voters according to opinion polls, experienced an internal crisis. On one side Toti wanted to form an alliance with Matteo Renzi's Italia Viva party, and he launched Italy in the Centre (IaC); on the other side, Brugnaro rejected establishment politics, and he wanted to remain part of the centre-right coalition. 10 Times Better ( it, 10 Volte Meglio, 10VM), whose official name is Italy 10 Times Better, is a liberal political party in Italy. History 10 Times Better was founded in December 2017 by the Venetian entrepreneur, Andrea Dusi, to run in the 2018 general election; Dusi's aim is to create an Italian equivalent of Ciudadanos, the Spanish liberal party led by Albert Rivera. 10VM wants to restart investing funds on enterprises, on tourism and innovation which are considered the key points to re-launch Italy. The Chamber of Deputies ( it, Camera dei deputati) is the lower house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Senate of the Republic). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. The mixed group ( it, Gruppo Misto, GM) is a parliamentary group active in both houses of the Italian Parliament, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The groups comprise all the deputies and the senators, respectively, who are not members of any other parliamentary group. For them, membership of the Mixed Groups is the default option. Giovanni Toti
Giovanni Toti (born 7 September 1968) is an Italian journalist and politician, who has been President of Liguria since June 2015. Toti was also elected to the European Parliament, following the 2014 European Parliament election. Biography Born in Viareggio in 1968, Toti grew up in Massa Carrara where the family ran a hotel, and he has lived for many years with his family and parents in Bocca di Magra, Ameglia, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria. He graduated in political science from the University of Milan. He is married to the journalist Siria Magri. During the 1980s he was a member of the youth wing of the Italian Socialist Party, led at the time by Bettino Craxi, Prime Minister from 1983 to 1987, later condemned for corruption, in the trial ''Mani Pulite''.
