Callisto Corporation
Callisto Corporation was a software development company founded by Robert Harris, Mike Barta and Seth Lipkin in May 1989. Prior to founding the company, all three worked at GCC Technologies. They were best known for their series of computer games for the Macintosh in the 1990s, including ClockWerx, Spin Doctor, Super Maze Wars and Super Mines. They also were contracted out to work on the software titles Math Blaster, Reading Blaster, and Typing Tutor. From 1990 to 1992, they created and expanded Meeting Maker, a networked meeting-scheduling product. In 1991, Callisto sold Meeting Maker to ON Technology. From 1997 to 2007, the company focused on consumer digital photo software, which resulted in PhotoParade. In mid-2008, the PhotoParade.com web site was changed to indicate that direct emailing of PhotoParade files would no longer be supported. Reading Blaster
The ''Blaster Learning System'' is an educational video game series originally created and published by Davidson & Associates, but is now owned and published by JumpStart (Knowledge Adventure), after the two companies were acquired and merged by CUC Software. Titles in the series have been produced for several computer systems, video game consoles, and as standalone handheld units. Originally, the series simply learned mathematics, but eventually expanded to other subjects, such as language arts (reading) and science. Because the first ''Math Blaster'' series was so popular, Davidson made ''Reading Blaster'' in 1994, which also went on to be a hit. ''Science Blaster'' was introduced in 1996, but never reach the same popularity as its predecessors. Casady & Greene (sometimes abbreviated to C&G) was a software publisher and developer active from 1988 to 2003. The company primarily released software for Macintosh, but also released software for Windows and Newton. Casady & Greene was formed in 1988 when Greene, Inc. acquired CasadyWare, a company owned by Robin Casady. Robin Casady founded Casady Company in 1984. Initially, it was a Macintosh bitmap font publisher. The fonts were jointly developed by Robin Casady and Richard Ware. Casady Co first advertised in the January 1985 issue of Macworld magazine. ON Technology Corporation was a software company in the United States. It was formed in 1987 by Mitch Kapor after his departure from Lotus Software. The original plan of the business was to build an object-oriented PC desktop environment providing a variety of applications. Meeting Maker is a cross-platform personal calendar and group scheduling software application from PeopleCube. First released in 1991 for Macintosh by ON Technology, support for other platforms followed in 1993 with Meeting Maker XP.
