Calcinate
Calcinate (Bergamasque: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, northern Italy. Its economy is mostly based on industry. History The origin of the town are Gaulish and Roman, though it is first mentioned in a document from 1148. It was conquered by the Republic of Venice in the 15th century, and remained to it until 1797. In that period it became a flourishing agricultural centre. Vincenzo Vecchi is an Italian "altermondialist". Biography Vecchi was born in Calcinate in the early 1970s. As an adult, he worked as a gardener in Mornico al Serio before moving to Milan, where he became active in local anarchist and environmentalist groups during the 1990s. Since 2011, he has lived in Brittany, in France, where he worked as a building painter. The 27th G8 summit in Genoa in 2001 was marked by a number of anti-globalization protests, with hundreds of thousands of protestors taking part. The protests saw clashes between police and protestors, as well as a number of raids by police on independent journalists, resulting in dozens of injuries and arrests and claims of police brutality. Santa Maria Assunta, also dedicated to ''San Vittore'', is a baroque-style, Roman Catholic parish church located in the town of Calcinate, province of Bergamo, region of Lombardy, Italy. Andrea Belotti (; born 20 December 1993) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Roma and the Italy national team. Belotti started his career with AlbinoLeffe.
