Caitlin Rooskrantz
Caitlin Aileen Rooskrantz (born 5 November 2001) is a South African artistic gymnast who competed at the 2020 Olympic Games. She won the uneven bars competitions at the 2018 African Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the 2019 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series event in Szombathely and the 2022 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series event in Cairo. Career Rooskrantz is a member of Johannesburg Gymnastics Centre, and started gymnastics at the age of eight. Between 2015 and 2017, Rooskrantz dislocated her fingers on five separate occasions. In 2016, she came second in the junior all-around event at the African Artistic Gymnastics Championships. At the 2016 Junior Commonwealth Games in Namibia, Rooskrantz came second in the vault event, third in the bars event, and second in the all-around event. Naveen Daries
Naveen Natascha Daries (born 29 October 2001) is a South African artistic gymnast who represented her country at the 2017, 2018 and 2019 World Championships, as well as the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She took the bronze medal in the all-around at the 2021 African Championships, earning a continental berth to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Early life Daries took up gymnastics while in kindergarten after seeing a gymnastics competition on television. Her younger sister Zelmé is also an elite gymnast. Daries was born blind in one eye. Career Junior In June 2015, Daries became the junior South African all-around champion, taking the gold on vault and the bronze on bars, beam and floor exercise. The women's artistic individual all-around event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was held at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on 29 July 2021. Approximately 80 gymnasts from 49 nations (of the 98 total gymnasts) competed in the all-around in the qualifying round. Sunisa Lee won the competition, continuing the winning streak of the United States since 2004 in the women's individual all-around. All five events were won by different athletes. Lee is the first women's individual all-around champion of Asian descent, the first Asian-American individual Olympic champion in women's artistic gymnastics, and the first Hmong-American Olympic champion in any sport. 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in Stuttgart, Germany from October 4–13, 2019. The championships took place at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and was the third time the city of Stuttgart hosted the event following the 1989 and 2007 editions, and the fifth time Germany hosted it. As of October 2, 92 federations registered gymnasts for the event with a total of 288 men and 259 women. Sam Mikulak of the United States and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos of France won the Longines Prize for Elegance.
