Cagayancillo Airport
Cagayancillo Airport, also known as Magsaysay Airport, is an airport serving the general area of Cagayancillo, located in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is located in the barangay of Magsaysay, at the southern portion of Cagayancillo. Development The Province of Palawan initiated P5 million worth of repairs on Cagayancillo to boost tourism development and disaster preparedness. Currently, the airport is serviced by scheduled charter flights using a 6-seater Cessna plane from Sipalay Airport. The flights are chartered for Easy Diving Resort, based in Sipalay, which also operates professional diving services off the waters of Cagayancillo. Incidents and accidents On July 2, 2000, a GAF Nomad propeller plane with registration no. N286, operated by the Philippine Air Force, crashed off the waters of Cagayancillo. Cagayancillo, officially the Municipality of Cagayancillo ( tgl, Bayan ng Cagayancillo), is a 6th class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 6,884 people. Located between the islands of Palawan and Negros in the Sulu Sea, Cagayancillo is the closest settlement to the Tubbataha National Marine Park. The word Cagayancillo is Spanish meaning "Little Cagayan". History The island was known to the first Spanish settlers in the Archipelago simply as ''Cagayan''. WikiMapia
Wikimapia is a geographic online encyclopedia project. The project implements an interactive "clickable" web map that utilizes Google Maps with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the world. Wikimapia was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev in May 2006. Sipalay Airport ( Hiligaynon: ''Hulugpaan sang Sipalay''; Filipino: ''Paliparan ng Sipalay''), also known as San Jose Airstrip and formerly known as Maricalum Airstrip, is an airport serving the general area of the city of Sipalay, Negros Occidental, in the Philippines. The GAF Nomad is a utility aircraft produced by the Government Aircraft Factories (GAF) of Australia in Melbourne.
