Caddo Magnet High School
Caddo Parish Magnet High School (CMHS) is located in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. Caddo Magnet was founded by its first principal, Ascension Smith. The school colors are gold and red, and the mascot is a Mustang. The current principal is Mr. Robert Middleton. The assistant principals include Dr. Cedric Ellis (attendance and discipline), Schannon Lanclos, and Kerri Miles (both curriculum and instruction). Academic Decathlon Caddo Magnet won the Academic Decathlon contest for Louisiana each year from 1983 through 2011. Shreveport ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is the third most populous city in Louisiana after New Orleans and Baton Rouge, respectively. Cedric Glover
Cedric Bradford Glover (born August 9, 1965) is a Democratic Party politician who is a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 4. He was earlier the two-term mayor of Shreveport, Louisiana, the first African-American to hold that position. Outgoing Mayor Keith Hightower was term-limited in 2006, after having won election in both 1998 and 2002. Glover defeated the Republican mayoral candidate, former city attorney Jerry Jones, in the general election held on November 7, 2006, by a 54-46 percent margin. Henry Wanjune Lin (born 1995) is an American student who won the $50,000 Intel Young Scientist award, the second-highest award at the 2013 Intel Science and Engineering Fair for his work with MIT professor Michael McDonald on simulations of galaxy clusters. In 2015, he was named one of Forbes' 30 under 30 scientists. He is a 2012 alumnus of the Research Science Institute and a 2013 alumnus of the International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP) at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. Kenny Wayne Shepherd (born Kenny Wayne Brobst; June 12, 1977) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Tom Melville Drummond (born June 30, 1969 Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American musician. He is currently the bassist and background vocalist for the band, Better Than Ezra. Drummond is one of the four original founding members who formed Better Than Ezra in 1988. He had graduated from Caddo Magnet High School and was attending Louisiana State University at the time. Alan Kendall Duncan (born 1965 in Shreveport) is an American physician who holds the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Duncan was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a member of the first graduating class of the Caddo Parish Magnet High School, a competitive entry school for the arts and academics.
