The Primera División de Baloncesto is the fifth level in the Spanish basketball league system. Current format The Primera División works similar to the Tercera División of Spanish football. Sabadell () is a city in Catalonia, Spain. It is in the south of the ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental and its joint capital (co-capital), on the River Ripoll, north of Barcelona. 2016–17 Copa Catalunya Basketball Season
The 2016–17 Copa Catalunya was the 18th season of Copa Catalunya. This season the competition was reduced from 32 to 28 teams. The Final Four was played at the Pavelló Municipal in Salou. Mataró Parc Boet won the title. For the first time an All Star match was played by the best players of each group. The All Star Game was played at Parc Esportiu Llobregat in Cornellà de Llobregat. The All Star replaced the Copa Federació that played the last seasons. Format Regular season 28 teams are divided in two groups by geographical criteria. Copa Catalunya is the name given to the regional group of Catalonia in the Primera División de Baloncesto basketball championship, that is the fifth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, LEB Plata and Liga EBA. It is administered by the Catalan Basketball Federation since 1999 and is played under FIBA rules. Championship format 28 teams divided in two groups of 14, disputed a league.
