Nydalen
Nydalen is a neighbourhood in the Nordre Aker borough in northern Oslo, Norway. History In the late 19th century, the banks of the Akerselva River were dotted with various industrial buildings, Nydalen included. However, a transformation soon occurred. Beginning in the 1990s, Nydalen evolved into an urban hub of sorts with modern residential buildings, commercial and service establishments, shopping centres, eateries, and numerous corporate offices. The relocation of the BI Norwegian Business School to the area in 2004 further boosted the area's development. In 2003, a new subway station, Nydalen (station) opened in Nydalen. Many people have moved into new residential buildings in the late 2000s. Today, the area is a lively, trendy and well-connected neighbourhood with the Akerselva River flowing through its heart. Sven Otto Birkeland
Sven Otto Birkeland (born 10 February 1948) is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Birkeland was born in Kristiansand. He played as a midfielder for Start from 1973–78, and won the league in 1978. He began his career at Vigør and played for Lyn Ubisoft Montpellier is a French video game developer and a studio of Ubisoft based in Castelnau-le-Lez. Founded in 1994 as Ubi Pictures, it is best known for developing the ''Rayman'' and ''Beyond Good & Evil'' series. At 350 employees as of Se ... from 1969 to 1973. He also played for Jerv and was the coach of Donn. Birkeland was the match winner against Bodø/Glimt when Start's first league title was secured on 15 October 1978. Harald Sunde (footballer)
Harald Sunde (born 21 February 1944) is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played for Rosenborg BK in Trondheim in three periods from 1967 to 1979, in seven seasons in the Norwegian Premier League he played 104 matches and scored 30 goals. Sunde was capped 39 times for Norway national football team and scored five goals. Sunde coached Rosenborg BK in parts of the 1983 season. Biography Harald Sunde started his football career in Nidelv IL in Trondheim, which in the early sixties was one of the best clubs in the city. Sunde was capped for Norway junior team in 1961 and for Norway u-21 in 1963 and the Norway national football team in 1964. When Rosenborg BK in 1967 was promoted to the top division Sunde transferred to Rosenborg BK. Harald Johan Berg
Harald Johan «Dutte» Berg (born 9 November 1941 in Bodø) is a former Norwegian playmaker and midfielder, nickname "Dutte". He is the brother of Knut Berg, the father of Ørjan Berg, Runar Berg and Arild Berg, and grandfather of Patrick Berg (son of Ørjan) – all of whom have played in the Norwegian top division and been selected for the Norway national football team. Club career Berg was a significant player for Bodø/Glimt in the late 1950s, early 1960s and 1970s, and Lyn in the 1960s. Helping Lyn winning the league in 1968 and Bodø/Glimt winning the cup final in 1975. In 1969 Lyn and Berg got to the quarter-finale in the European Cup Winners' Cup losing 2–3 and 2–2 to the Spanish giant F.C. Barcelona, it sticks to the story that Lyn had to play both matches in Spain due to the harsh weather conditions in Norway at winter. Nils Olav Nilsen
Nils Olav Nilsen (24 January 1942 – 11 October 2021) was a Norwegian footballer who played as a striker in his early career, but was later used as a midfielder. He scored 19 goals in 62 matches for the Norway national team. On club level Nilsen played for Viking, being team captain during their heyday in the early 1970s. Fairs Cup
The Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, sometimes referred to as the European Fairs Cup, Fairs Cities' Cup, or simply as the Fairs Cup, was a European football competition played between 1955 and 1971. It is often considered the predecessor to the UEFA Cup (now the UEFA Europa League). The competition was the idea of FIFA vice-president and executive committee member Ernst Thommen, Italian Football Federation president and FIFA executive committee member Ottorino Barassi, and the English Football Association general secretary and president of FIFA from 1961 to 1974, Stanley Rous. As the name suggests, the competition was set up to promote international trade fairs. Friendly games were regularly held between teams from cities holding trade fairs and it was from these games that the competition evolved. The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). From 1972 onwards, the winner of the tournament progressed to play the winner of the European Cup (later the UEFA Champions League) in the European Super Cup.
