Burbank Town Center (formerly Media City Center) is a large shopping mall and complex that opened in August 1991 on Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank, California, with three levels of interior shopping anchored by Macy's, Burlington, Sears, and ROUND1 Bowling & Amusement, with an open-air shopping plaza anchored by Office Depot. History The Golden Mall was a pedestrianized mall in downtown Burbank from 1967 to 1989. It consisted of San Fernando Boulevard from Tujunga Avenue to Magnolia Boulevard. At the north end of the Golden Mall was an empty 40-acre parcel. Plans to revitalize Golden Mall during the 1970s and 1980s hinged on several plans to develop the 40 acre parcel. Buffums, originally written as Buffums' with an apostrophe, was a chain of upscale department stores, headquartered in Long Beach, California. The Buffums chain began in 1904, when two brothers from Illinois, Charles A. and Edwin E. Buffum, together with other partners, bought the Schilling Bros., the largest dry goods store in Long Beach, and renamed it The Mercantile Co. The store grew to a large downtown department store, and starting in the 1950s, grew slowly over the years to be a small regional chain of 16 speciality department stores across Southern California at the time of its closure in 1990. Union Gap is a city in Yakima County, Washington, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 6,568. Union Gap has become the retail hub for the entire Yakima Valley as a result of Valley Mall and other thriving businesses being located here. Part of the city is part of the Yakama Nation. Valley Mall is a regional enclosed shopping mall located in Union Gap, Washington, serving the Yakima area. It is the region's sole indoor mall and has 55 stores, anchored by Macy's (formerly The Bon Marché), Kohl's, and Sears. The mall is located on Interstate 82 and is adjacent to outdoor shopping centers called Valley Mall Plaza, Washington Plaza, and Frontage. Collectively, the property has 80 retailers.
