Brumunddal
Brumunddal is a town in Ringsaker Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of the municipality. It is located on the shores of the lake Mjøsa, about north of the town of Hamar. The town is a small, densely populated area surrounded by countryside and farms. It is situated at the mouth of river Brumunda, running from the highlands into lake Mjøsa. Brumunddal Church is located in the village. The town has a population (2021) of 11,019 and a population density of . This makes it the largest settlement in all of Ringsaker municipality. The dominant industries are agriculture, ore refining, and tourism. Tine also has a large production facility in the town. Brumunddal is the hometown of the woman behind one of Norway's most popular frozen pizza brands, Grandiosa. The local football team is Brumunddal Fotball. Brumunddal Church
Brumunddal Church ( no, Brumunddal kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Ringsaker Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Brumunddal. It is one of the two churches for the Brumunddal/Veldre parish which is part of the Ringsaker prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The brown wood and white brick church was built in a long church design in 1965 using plans drawn up by the architects Molle Cappelen, Per Cappelen, and Svein Erik Lundby. The church seats about 350 people. History The parish made plans for a new church in Brumunddal during the 1960s. Molle Cappelen, Per Cappelen, and Svein Erik Lundby were hired to design the new church. The large nave has seating for about 350 people. On one side of the nave there is a church hall and on the other side is an extension with a priest's office, sacristy, and baptismal waiting room. Brumunddal Fotball
Brumunddal Fotball is the football section of the Norwegian alliance sports club Brumunddal IL, located in Brumunddal, Hedmark. The organizational independency of the football section dates from 2003, although its parent club was founded in 1895. The men's football team currently plays in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of Norwegian football. History The team played in the Third Division, but after being relegated in 1995 it languished in the Fourth Division. Its return to the Third Division in 1998 also became short-lived. The team then had a longer stint from 2001 to 2004, when Strømmen IF was beaten in the playoffs, securing promotion to the 2005 Norwegian Second Division. Brumunda
Brumunda is a river in Innlandet county, Norway. The long river begins at the lake Brumundsjøen on the border of Ringsaker and Hamar municipalities. The river begins at the lake, just north of Høljemyra and continues in a southerly direction to the south of Bersbuseter. The river ends at Brumunddal where it flows into the lake Mjøsa a few kilometres north of the town of Hamar. Brumunda serves as the border between Furnes and Veldre, and during the Middle Ages, it was the border between southern and northern Hedemarken. It still serves as the border between the southern and northern variants of the ''Hedmarksk'' dialect. Mjøstårnet
Mjøstårnet is an 18-storey mixed-use building in Brumunddal, Norway, completed in March 2019. It is officially the world's tallest timber building, at tall. Mjøstårnet translates as "the tower of lake Mjøsa". The building is named after Norway's biggest lake, which is 100km away from Oslo. Mjøstårnet has a combined floor area of around . The building offers a hotel, apartments, offices, a restaurant and common areas, as well as a swimming hall in the adjacent first-floor extension. This is about in size and also built in wood. Mjøsa is Norway's largest lake, as well as one of the deepest lakes in Norway and in Europe. It is the fourth-deepest lake in Norway. Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date).
