Brick Church Station
Brick Church is an active commuter railroad station in the city of East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. The station, one of two in East Orange, is located next to the Temple of Unified Christians Brick Church, designed with brick architecture. The other station, located to the east, is the namesake East Orange stop. Trains from the station head east on New Jersey Transit's Morristown Line and Gladstone Branch to New York Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal while westbound trains service stops out to Gladstone and Hackettstown. Like its sister station, Brick Church contains three tracks and two platforms (a side platform and an island platform). However, it is not accessible for the handicapped. Railroad service through East Orange began with the opening of the Morris and Essex Railroad on November 19, 1836 to Orange. Hackettstown Station
Hackettstown is a New Jersey Transit station in Hackettstown, New Jersey. The station is located at the intersection of Valentine Street and Beatty Street and is the western terminus of the Morristown Line and the Montclair-Boonton Line, which both provide service to Hoboken Terminal or to Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan via Midtown Direct. Hackettstown station is the only active New Jersey Transit station in Warren County. The line from Hackettstown – Dover is diesel powered, requiring a transfer at Dover, Montclair State University or Newark Broad Street to an electrified train to New York Penn Station. Lake Cities (train)
The ''Lake Cities'' was a passenger train operated by the Erie Railroad and successor Erie Lackawanna Railway between Chicago and New Jersey termini — first, Jersey City and later Hoboken. The ''Lake Cities'' began in 1939 as the ''Midlander'', a Jersey City-Chicago service with sections to Cleveland, Ohio, and Buffalo, New York. From its eastern terminus, the Erie's Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City, the route ran through Port Jervis to Binghamton over the traditional Erie main line through Sullivan and Orange County in New York's Southern Tier and on to Chicago. Erie-Lackwanna Railroad
The Erie Lackawanna Railway , known as the Erie Lackawanna Railroad until 1968, was formed from the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. The official motto of the line was "The Friendly Service Route". Like many railroads in the northeast already financially vulnerable from the expanding U.S. Interstate Highway System, the line was severely weakened fiscally by the extent, duration and record flood levels due to Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Orange is an active commuter railroad train station in the city of Orange, Essex County, New Jersey. One of two stops in the city (along with Highland Avenue), it is served by New Jersey Transit's Morris and Essex Lines: the Morristown Line to Hackettstown and the Gladstone Branch to Gladstone for trains from New York Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal.
