Brazil Women's National Rugby League Team
The Brazil women's national rugby league team represent Brazil in international rugby league football competitions. They were announced to play in the 2021 Women's Rugby League World Cup in July 2019. Former Super League player Matt Gardner, of Brazilian descent, was announced as head coach in November 2019. However, due to Covid restrictions and personal circumstance, Gardner was unable to fulfil his duties as head coach and was replaced by Paul Grundy in November 2020. Rugby league football, commonly known as just rugby league and sometimes football, footy, rugby or league, is a full-contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular field measuring 68 metres (75 yards) wide and 112–122 metres (122 to 133 yards) long with H shaped posts at both ends. The tournament featured eight teams, an increase of two from the previous tournament. For the first time the tournament had parity with the men's and wheelchair tournaments with all participants being paid the same while all 61 matches across three tournaments will be broadcast live. Super League
The Super League (officially known as the Betfred Super League due to sponsorship from Betfred and legally known as Super League Europe), is the top-level of the British rugby league system. At present the league consists of twelve teams, of which eleven are from Northern England, reflecting the sport's geographic heartland within the UK, and one from southern France. The Super League began in 1996, replacing the existing Rugby Football League Championship First Division, First Division and, significantly, switching from a traditional winter season to a summer season. Each team plays 27 games between February and September: 11 home games, 11 away games, Magic Weekend and an additional 4 'loop fixtures' decided by league positions. Matt Gardner
Mat Gardner (born 24 August 1985) is a professional rugby league footballer. Rugby League Career Huddersfield Giants Gardner joined from Castleford Tigers ( Heritage № 818) and made his Super League début in a match against Wakefield Trinity on 4 March 2006 for Huddersfield. He enjoyed a solid début season with the Huddersfield in 2006, which included a memorable hat-trick against the Catalans Dragons, and also played several games, which saw him line-up against his brother Ade Gardner. He played in Huddersfield's first seven games and scored 2 tries, although a long run in the reserves followed before he was recalled for the game against Harlequins RL. 2018 South American Rugby League Cup
The 2018 South American Rugby League Championship will be held in São Paulo, Brazil and is going to be held on the 23rd to the 25th of November 2018. The tournament is the inaugural South American Championship. The teams participating in the tournament are Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. The South American Cup also includes a women's international between the Brazilian women's team and Argentinian women's team and a second division game between Brazil and Argentina, as well as an Under-17's match between Brazil and Argentina. Headingley Stadium is a stadium complex in Headingley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, comprising two separate grounds; Headingley Cricket Ground and Headingley Rugby Stadium, linked by a two-sided stand housing common facilities. The MKM Stadium (also known as the Hull City Stadium due to UEFA sponsorship regulations) is a multi-purpose facility in the city of Kingston upon Hull, England.
