Brauer College
Brauer College is a government secondary school, located in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. Originally established as Warrnambool Technical School in 1911, the school was renamed Brauer College at the beginning of 1990 (after noted 20th-century Warrnambool doctor, Alfred Brauer), to reflect its change from a technical institution into a more mainstream college. Brauer has since developed into a large secondary school with an enrolment of approximately 850 students ranging from years 7 to 12. The school is known for both outstanding curricular and extra curricular activities, including consistently high VCE results and outstanding levels of success in public speaking, performing arts and sporting areas. Boyle has been principal of the College since 2012. The school council president is Darren Hancy. Warrnambool
Warrnambool ( Maar: ''Peetoop'' or ''Wheringkernitch'' or ''Warrnambool'') is a city on the south-western coast of Victoria, Australia. At the 2021 census, Warrnambool had a population of 35,743. Situated on the Princes Highway, Warrnambool (Allansford) marks the western end of the Great Ocean Road and the southern end of the Hopkins Highway. History Origin of name The name "Warrnambool" originated from Mount Warrnambool, a scoria cone volcano 25 kilometres northeast of the town. Warrnambool (or Warrnoobul) was the title of both the volcano and the clan of Aboriginal Australian people who lived there. In the local language, the prefix Warnn- designated home or hut, while the meaning of the suffix -ambool is now unknown. Alex Dyson
Alexander Edward Dyson (born 22 June 1988) is an Australian radio presenter who presented the breakfast show on Australian youth radio station Triple J from 2010 to 2016, alongside Tom Ballard and then with Matt Okine. He is also a small business owner and published author. Since 2019, Dyson has twice run for the federal seat of Wannon in 2022 with the support of the independent “Voices” movement. Personal life Tyson was born to parents Ian and Helen Jean Dyson and grew up Warrnambool, Victoria. Dyson's mother died when he was four years old. Daly College
The Daly College is a co-educational residential and day boarding school located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was founded by Sir Henry Daly of the British Indian Army during India's colonial British Raj, following an English public school model . The school started in 1870 as the Residency School. Airbourne are an Australian hard rock band formed in Warrnambool, Victoria in late 2003. Founding members are Joel O'Keeffe on lead vocals and lead guitar, his younger brother Ryan O'Keeffe on drums and David Roads on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. They were joined by Justin Street on bass guitar and backing vocals in mid-2004. Roads amicably left in 2017, Mathew Harrison joined in 2018 and after a short tenure was replaced by Jarrad Morrice on rhythm guitar and backing vocals in 2022. Kathryn Ross (rower)
Kathryn Ross (born 25 June 1981) is an Australian Paralympic rower. She is a four-time world champion who has participated at four Paralympics from 2008 to 2020, winning a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. She set a world's best time in the PR2 1X event at the 2019 World Rowing Championships. Personal Ross' leg became disfigured after her father accidentally ran over her with a ride-on lawn mower on the family farm in Warrnambool when she was two. Brent Moloney (born 28 January 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions, Melbourne Football Club and Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
