The Black Ice World Tour was a 2008–2010 concert tour by Australian rock band AC/DC, in support of their fifteenth studio album ''Black Ice'', which was released on 20 October 2008. This tour had 8 legs around the world lasting more than 20 months starting on 26 October 2008 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and finishing on 28 June 2010 in Bilbao, Spain. Background Overview The tour was the band's first since the Stiff Upper Lip World Tour in 2000 and 2001. It was the last tour with founding member and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who left the band in September 2014 due to ill health and died in November 2017. It was also the last tour with longtime drummer Phil Rudd who was charged in November 2014 for hiring a hitman to murder someone and possession of drugs. AC/DC (stylised as ACϟDC) are an Australian Rock music, rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm Young, Malcolm and Angus Young. The Stiff Upper Lip World Tour was a concert tour by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC in support of their fourteenth studio album, ''Stiff Upper Lip'', which was released in 28 February 2000. This tour had 6 legs around the world lasting 11 months starting on 1 August 2000 in Grand Rapids, Michigan finishing on 8 July 2001 in Cologne, Germany. Background The tour began on 1 August 2000 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, United States. The stage show featured a 40-foot bronze Angus statue with horns which was featured on the cover of the band's fourteenth studio album, ''Stiff Upper Lip''. The AC/DC Club Dates/Rolling Stones Tour was a series of concerts done by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. The band was a support act for the Rolling Stones' Licks Tour in Germany, but also performed together in Toronto, Canada. Background The band performed an exclusive show in New York City at the Roseland Ballroom on 11 March 2003 as part of a contest. Following the exclusive performance, AC/DC joined the Rolling Stones on their tour in Germany as an opening act. As part of the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto program for a benefit concert, AC/DC joined to support Rolling Stones on the lineup. The show in Toronto was the largest outdoor ticketed event in Canada, and its gross was in the 9 million range, drawing in 489,176 people. Krokus is a hard rock/ heavy metal band from Switzerland. They enjoyed success in North America during the 1980s. Krokus was founded in Solothurn in 1975 by Chris von Rohr (vocals and multi-instruments) and Tommy Kiefer (guitar), both former members of Kaktus. Hardcore Superstar is a Swedish heavy metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was formed in 1997 and have released eleven studio albums. History The first ten years (1997–2007) 1997–2004 Hardcore Superstar was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1997 by Joakim Berggren and Martin Sandvik. Their previous band Link had been grunge-inspired but with their new band they wanted to pull more towards rock'n'roll. They kept the drummer from Link, Mika Vaino (with the moniker DynaMike), and as lead guitarist they recruited Thomas Silver who had previously been in the band Glamoury Foxx with Jocke and had recently quit the band Green Jesus Saviours.
