Bill Dillard
William Dillard (July 20, 1911 – January 16, 1995) was an American jazz trumpeter, actor, and singer. Background Dillard was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and played in bands led by Jelly Roll Morton, Benny Carter, Luis Russell and Teddy Hill, among others. He also had an acting career on Broadway, including in '' One Mo' Time''. ''Barney Miller'' is an American sitcom television series set in a New York City Police Department police station on East 6th St in Greenwich Village. ''Omnibus'' was an American, commercially sponsored, educational variety television series. History ''Omnibus'' was created by the Ford Foundation, which sought to increase the education level of the American public. The show was conceived by James Webb Young who hired Robert Saudek as producer. Saudek believed that Omnibus could "raise the level of American taste" with educational entertainment. The show was broadcast live, primarily on Sunday afternoons at 4:00pm EST, from November 9, 1952, until April 16, 1961. ''Omnibus'' originally aired on CBS, and later on Sunday evenings on ABC. The show was never commercially viable on its own, and sources of funding dwindled after the Ford Foundation ended its sponsorship in 1957. ''Fight That Ghost'' is a 1946 feature horror comedy film. It is considered one of the earliest horror films with an all Black cast. It was directed by Sam Newfield. It was a Toddy Pictures Company release. Bill Dillard portrayed Jim Brown in the film.
