Bihta is a town and Block in Patna district, Bihar state, India. Bihta is part of Maner Assembly constituency and Pataliputra Lok Sabha constituency. It is located around west of Patna. Bihta is also an upcoming satellite town of Patna. It lies from Bihta railway station. Geography Bihta is west of Patna and is an hourlong drive from the capital. It is the strategic location named as greater Patna and many real estate companies are investing in the region. Bihta has a famous old temple named Van Devi at Kanchanpur Bihta, and a Shiv temple: Baba Biteshwar Nath in Gultera Bazar. Bihta Airport
The Bihta Air Force Station is an Indian Air Force (IAF) base in Bihta, Bihar, India. The military airfield, lies 40 kilometres southwest of state capital Patna and is spread over an area of around 900 acres. Civilian Operations In 2016, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) proposed to develop a civil enclave at the Bihta airbase to serve as a second airport for Patna. The Indian Air Force gave its consent in April 2016 for commercial flight operations from Bihta as a medium-term measure for development air operations from Patna. The terminal building of the civil enclave will have the capacity to cater up to 2.5 million passengers per annum.
