Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park
Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park (also known as Ranchi Zoo) is located off hakla village rmanjhi in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Ranchi Zoo was established in 1994 at the bank of Getalsud Dam and on the main Patna-Ranchi highway. The park has two divisions the zoological section is dedicated in 83 hectare and botanical section is spread over 21 hectare. Facilities The Zoo has a dedicated veterinary doctor and a trained compounder available 24 x 7 to monitor health issues of animals, well established pathology lab for animals is present in the park which includes a separate ward dedicated for complete treatment of animals and emergency ward for rescued animals or newly arrived ones. Ranchi
Ranchi (, ) is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Odisha, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh. The Jharkhand state was formed on 15 November 2000 by carving out the Bihar divisions of Chota Nagpur and Santhal Parganas. Ranchi has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission. Central Zoo Authority Of India
The Central Zoo Authority (CZA) is the body of the government of India responsible for oversight of zoos. It is an affiliate member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). The CZA was formed to bring Indian zoos up to international standards. Before the CZA was formed, many zoos were poorly managed, with unsuitable animal enclosures and little or no breeding records of animals, which caused inbreeding and hybridization (genetic pollution, as in one case where an Asiatic lion were cross-bred with an African lion). The Central Zoo Authority has been constituted under the section 38A of Wild Life (Protection) Act 1972. The Authority consists of a Chairman, ten members and a Member Secretary. Ormanjhi
Ormanjhi is a village in the Ormanjhi CD block in the Ranchi Sadar subdivision of Ranchi district, Jharkhand, India. Geography Location Ormanjhi is located at at an elevation of from mean sea level (MSL). Area overview The map alongside shows a part of the Ranchi plateau, most of it at an average elevation of 2,140 feet above sea level. Only a small part in the north-eastern part of the district is the lower Ranchi plateau, spread over Silli, Rahe, Sonahatu and Tamar CD blocks, at an elevation of 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. Getalsud Dam
Getalsud Dam is an artificial reservoir situated in Ormanjhi, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was constructed across the Subarnarekha River and was opened in 1971.
