Battle Born Studios, located in the Las Vegas Valley, Nevada, is a recording studio owned by rock band The Killers. History Established in the late 1990s as Studio Vegas, the studio was taken over by The Killers in 2008. The studio was opened to all artists on August 26, 2009. Prior to that time, it was used by The Killers and invited artists. The studio adopted its name from the Nevada state flag. The studio has hosted and/or recorded notable artists including Mötley Crüe, B.B. King, Elton John, and Imagine Dragons. ''Imagine Dragons'' is the eponymous second extended play (EP) by the American pop rock band of the same name, released on August 24, 2009. It was recorded at Battle Born Studios. All songs were written and produced by Imagine Dragons. Engineering was done by Robert Root. Tracks from the EP featured on Windows Media Player after the band won a competition on Reverbnation. ''Pressure Machine'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band the Killers. It was released on August 13, 2021. The album features the return of guitarist Dave Keuning to the studio with the band, after his absence on the previous album '' Imploding the Mirage'', while bassist Mark Stoermer was absent due to difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic during recording. Jonathan Rado and Shawn Everett returned to produce the album. ''Pressure Machine'' is a concept album based on lead singer Brandon Flowers' childhood in Nephi, Utah. ''Imploding the Mirage'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band the Killers. It was released on August 21, 2020, by Island Records in the United States and internationally by EMI. To date, it is the band's only album without lead guitarist Dave Keuning, who took an indefinite hiatus (ending in 2021) from the band in 2017. ''Dark Arts'' is the second studio album by The Killers bassist Mark Stoermer. It was released through his label, St. August Records on August 5, 2016. “Spare the Ones that Weep” was the first single released on July 22, 2016 followed shortly by “Are Your Stars Out?” on July 29, 2016, which was featured on Billboard’s website. Background, development and recording Stoermer wrote "Pretend Song" with the help of his friend Merkley by playing Ping-Song. Inspired by this process, Stoermer went on to write the rest of the album on his own, and sometimes with the help of longtime friend and co-producer, David Hopkins.
