Basketbol Süper Ligi
The Basketball Super League ( tr, Basketbol Süper Ligi; BSL), also known as the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional basketball division of the Turkish basketball league system. It replaced the former Turkish Basketball Championship (1946–1966) to become the Turkish Basketball League (TBL) until 2015 when it adopted its current name while the TBL name became exclusive to the second-tier and third-tier divisions. The BSL is administrated by the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) and is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the second-tier TBL and replaced by the top two teams of that division. Since the league's restructuring in 1966, 11 clubs have been crowned champions, with Anadolu Efes winning the title a record 15 times and Fenerbahçe 10 times. Turkish Basketball Second League
The Turkish Basketball Second League, also called TB2L, is Turkish basketball league system, the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Turkey. The league was previously called the Turkish Basketball Third League (TB3L). Format and promotion and relegation There are a total of 15 teams participating in the league for the TB2L 2019–20 season. Each team plays each other in their group twice during the regular season. The top 8 teams from each group qualify to an elimination round (best of 3 games). Winners in elimination games qualify to the Quarterfinals (best of 3 games). Winners in the quarterfinals qualify to a final group (round robin). The top two teams in the final group are promotion and relegation, promoted to the Turkish basketball league system, second-tier level Turkish Basketball First League (TBL) for the next season. Galatasaray High School
Galatasaray High School ( tr, Galatasaray Lisesi, french: Lycée de Galatasaray), established in what was then Constantinople and is now Istanbul, in 1481, is the oldest high school in Turkey. It is also the second-oldest Turkish educational institution after Istanbul University, which was established in 1453. Ahmet Robenson
Ahmet Robenson (born Peel Harold Robinson; 1889 – 1 January 1968) was a Turkish football player and physical education teacher at Galatasaray High School, who is known for his active role in the development of sports in Turkey. Biography He was born in Kalimpong, British Raj (modern day India). He lived most of his life in Istanbul and died in New York, United States. Ahmet had two brothers, Yakup and Abdurrahman, who were also interested in sports, however they were killed in action in World War I whilst fighting for the Ottomans against the British in the Sinai front. After graduating from Galatasaray High School, Robenson was interested in new sports which were not recognized in his country at the time.
