Balmoral Railway Station
Balmoral railway station is located in the townland of Ballygammon in south Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The station opened on 1 November 1858. The platform was extended by 45 metres in 1870 and the station has been unstaffed since October 1966. It is located near the King's Hall, an exhibition and concert venue and home of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society. Station house There is a station house, which was built in the style of the Great Northern Railway of Ireland, it is now in private ownership and has been extended by the owner. CIE 201 Class
The Córas Iompair Éireann 201 Class was a class of 34 diesel electric locomotives manufactured by Metropolitan-Vickers at their Dukinfield Works in Manchester. They were a smaller, lighter and less powerful version of the 001 Class and were originally intended for branch line passenger and freight (mixed traffic) duties. They were introduced in 1956 and, although their duties changed over the years, were in regular service on the Irish railway network until the mid-1980s. Ulster Railway
The Ulster Railway was a railway company operating in Ulster, Ireland. The company was incorporated in 1836 and merged with two other railway companies in 1876 to form the Great Northern Railway (Ireland). History The Ulster Railway was authorised by an Act of the UK Parliament in 1836 and construction began in March 1837. The Great Northern Railway (Ireland) (GNR(I) or GNRI) was an Irish gauge () railway company in Ireland. It was formed in 1876 by a merger of the Irish North Western Railway (INW), Northern Railway of Ireland, and Ulster Railway. Adelaide railway station is located in the townland of Malone Lower in south Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is located just off the Lisburn Road and close to many Queen's University students' houses. The station was opened by the Great Northern Railway of Ireland on 1 November 1897 and was originally called ''Adelaide and Windsor''. It was renamed ''Adelaide'' in 1935. It became an unstaffed halt in October 1996. The station also serves the nearby Windsor Park stadium, which is the current home of the Northern Ireland national football team. Bangor railway station is a terminal railway station which serves the town of Bangor in County Down, Northern Ireland. History The station was opened by the Belfast and County Down Railway on 1 May 1865 and closed to goods traffic on 24 April 1950. Daylight saving time was introduced by the Summer Time Act 1916 and implemented on 1st October 1916 as GMT plus one hour and Dublin Mean Time plus one hour. However, Dublin Mean Time (used by the railways) had a disparity of twenty-five minutes with Greenwich Mean Time, which meant that the Bangor Railway Station Clock was to be put back only thirty-five minutes instead of one hour.
