Børge-Are Halvorsen
Børge-Are Halvorsen (born 12 October 1978 in Lillehammer, Norway) is a Norwegian Jazz musician (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone and c- and alto flute). His family moved to Sandane in Gloppen where he spent his youth, but he was later a freelance musician resident of Oslo since 2003. Career Halvorsen studied music at Firda vidaregåande skule (1994–97), then at "Viken Folkehøgskole" (1997–98) and at last on the Department of Music, Rhythmic studies at Universitetet i Agder (1998-02). Since 2006 he has been engaged as Lecturer in saxophone and jazz improvisation at Norges Musikkhøgskole, since 2010 also at Department of Musicology Universitetet i Oslo. He also works as an arranger, much in connection with horn section or big band. Dylan Mondegreen (born Børge Sildnes) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. His debut album, ''While I Walk You Home'', was released in his native country on 17 September 2007. Jan Eggum
Jan Eggum (born 8 December 1951) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter. He has been characterized as a "face for the melancholy", and the themes in his songs are often broken hearts, loneliness, and sorrow. Sometimes his lyrics include social criticism, but he also shows trivial and funny sides of himself. Career Eggum was born in Bergen, but started as a pub singer in London, and made his living for two years writing songs in English. One of his most famous songs – "En natt forbi" ("A night is over") – was originally written in English, with the title "Alone, Awake". Håkon Storm (born Håkon Storm-Mathisen 13 March 1967 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar), the son of professor of medicine Jon Storm-Mathisen (b. 1941), and known from his own band projects in addition playing within the "Prime Time Orchestra", and collaborations with Tore Brunborg, Finn Guttormsen, Jarle Vespestad, Jacob Young and Beate S. Helge Sunde (born 9 June 1965 in Stryn, Norway) is a Norwegian composer and musician (trombone and multi-instrumentalist), known for his compositions in contemporary music and jazz for large ensembles and for his works as music arranger for symphony orchestras in collaboration with artists. Career Sunde has a diploma in composition from the Norwegian Academy of Music (1995) in Oslo, where he studied under guidance of Olav Anton Thommessen, Bjørn Kruse, Lasse Thoresen and Alfred Janson. Ensemble Denada or Norske Store Orkester (initiated 2000 in Oslo, Norway as 'Norske Store Orkester') is a Norwegian miniature big band run by "Østnorsk jazzsenter". Beady Belle
Beady Belle is a Norwegian jazz band founded by Beate S. Lech with her bassist and husband Marius Reksjø, after having been encouraged to make a record by Bugge Wesseltoft at Jazzland Recordings. Biography Lech and Reksjø studied music together at the University of Oslo, and as music students they started several bands together. Their music flows in the landscape between jazz and acid-jazz, using upbeat and downbeat electronica roots, using vocal harmonies, piano, and strings. However, the music also incorporates elements of several other genres. Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen (born 3 June 1976 in Sykkylven, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz singer, songwriter, cabaret artist and songwriter, known from her own releases and appearances. Børre Dalhaug (born 29 April 1974 in Ålesund, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (drums), music arranger and music instructor.
