Button Pusher
A button pusher ( uk, кнопкодав, ''Knopkodav'') is a term in Ukrainian politics and society related to a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the parliament of Ukraine) who votes on a motion by using their own identity card as well as ones belonging to other deputies. This voting is done either with or without the consent of the absent deputies. On 2 March 2021, sensor technologies were installed in the Ukrainian parliament that were designed to make it impossible for members of parliament (MPs) to vote on behalf of absent colleagues (since they need now to use both their hands for a single vote). Etymology The term "button pusher" emerged in the early 2000s in a journalistic environment for designating MPs who vote on behalf of their colleagues. TSN News
The TSN ( uk, ТСН) or Television News Service (Телевізійна служба новин, ) is a Ukrainian daily news program of the 1+1 TV channel produced by 1+1 Media Group, broadcast from a television studio at the channel's headquarters in Podil, Kyiv since 2013. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, up to 8 TSN editions were broadcast on weekdays depending on the day of the week and one on Saturday and Sunday. The 7th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada ( uk, Верховна Рада України VII скликання) was a session of the legislative branch of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. Its composition was based on the results of the 2012 parliamentary election. Half of the seats in the parliament were apportioned between the five winning parties based on the popular vote, while the other half was apportioned between 4 parties and 44 independents between 225 constituencies throughout the country.
