Burton Rugby Club is an English rugby union team based in Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. The club operates six senior teams, including an under-22s team, academy sides and a full range of junior teams. The first XV currently plays in Midlands Premier following their promotion as champions of Midlands 1 West at the end of the 2017–18 season. The Staffordshire Rugby Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Staffordshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Staffordshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. Burton upon Trent, also known as Burton-on-Trent or simply Burton, is a market town in the borough of East Staffordshire in the county of Staffordshire, England, close to the border with Derbyshire. Midlands Premier
Regional 1 Midlands (until 2022–23 known as Midlands Premier and up until 2016–17 known as National League 3 Midlands) is a level five semi-professional league in the English rugby union system. It is one of six leagues at this level. When this division began in 1987 it was known as Midlands Division 1. The format of the league was changed at the beginning of the 2009–10 season following a reorganisation by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and the name change from National League 3 to Premier was introduced for the 2017–18 season by the RFU in order to lessen confusion for what is a series of regional leagues. Peel Croft was a sports ground in Burton upon Trent in England. It was the home ground of Burton Rugby Football Club and the Burton Swifts and Burton United football clubs, who played in the Football League between 1892 and 1907. Tatenhill
Tatenhill is an ancient village and a civil parish located in a deep valley, between two hills, which gradually descend from the eastern border of Needwood Forest, west-southwest of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England. Buildings The sandstone Parish Church of St. Michael is a 13th-century building which was substantially enlarged and altered in the 15th century. Around 1890, Bodley restored the church. It is a Grade II* listed building. Beside the church stands the Old Rectory which was built in the early 18th century (1704 has been found written on the plaster inside the house) for William Binckes, Dean of Lichfield. Noted for its fine Georgian architecture is also a Grade II* listed building. Staffordshire Senior Cup (rugby Union)
The Staffordshire Senior Cup is an annual rugby union knock-out club competition organised by the Staffordshire Rugby Union. It was first introduced during the 1976–77 season, with the inaugural winners being Walsall. It is the most important rugby union cup competition in Staffordshire, ahead of the Staffordshire Intermediate Cup and Staffordshire Owen Cup. The Senior Cup is open to club sides based in Staffordshire and parts of the West Midlands playing in tier 5 (Midlands Premier), tier 6 (Midlands 1 West) and tier 7 (Midlands 2 West (North)) of the English rugby union system.
