Bujor Nedelcovici
Bujor Nedelcovici (; born March 16, 1936, Bârlad, Romania) is a novelist, essayist, playwright, screenwriter, journalist and photographer who lives in Paris, France. Bujor Nedelcovici finished High School at "I. L. Caragiale" in Ploiești, Romania. He graduated from the Bucharest Law Faculty in 1959. For a short period he worked as a lawyer at the Ploiești Lawyer's Bar Association. He was fired on political reasons and forbidden to practice law (His father was arrested by the Communist regime and imprisoned). For the next 12 years he had to earn his living by taking jobs inappropriate to his background, moving from one construction site or factory to another, all across Romania, from Bicaz to Braşov and Bucharest. Bârlad
Bârlad () is a city in Vaslui County, Romania. It lies on the banks of the river Bârlad, which waters the high plains of Western Moldavia. At Bârlad the railway from Iași diverges, one branch skirting the river Siret, the other skirting the Prut; both reunite at Galați. Along with a maze of narrow and winding streets, Bârlad features several notable modern buildings, including the hospital administered by the Saint Spiridion Foundation of Iași. In the vicinity of the city are the ruins of a Roman camp. The city is the birthplace of Romanian ''Domnitor'' (Ruler) and diplomat Alexandru Ioan Cuza. Etymology Scholars continue to debate the origin of the city's name. Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan
Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan (; January 1, 1942 – March 12, 2008) was a Romanian actor known for his work in Romanian film and television roles. However, Moldovan focused almost exclusively on theater and stage roles during the later years of his career. Moldovan was born on January 1, 1942, in Vișinelu, Mureș County. He was awarded the UNITER prize for his career achievements as a Romanian actor in 2004. He died of cancer at the age of 66 at the University Hospital in Bucharest, Romania, on March 12, 2008, and was buried at Bellu Cemetery. His last theater role was in the Romanian play, '' Celălalt Cioran'', which means ''The Other Cioran''. Moldovan's final play was named after Romanian philosopher, Emil Cioran. ''The Sleep of the Island'' is a Romanian film from 1994 directed by Mircea Veroiu, inspired from the novel ''The Second Messenger'' written by Bujor Nedelcovici. Victor Rebengiuc (; known in full as Victor-George Rebengiuc; born 10 February 1933) is a Romanian film and stage actor, also known as a civil society activist. Since 1957, he has been a member of the Bulandra Theater company, acting in more than 200 roles on that stage alone. Having had his breakthrough performance with Liviu Ciulei's '' The Forest of the Hanged'', Rebengiuc became a major figure in Romanian cinema, and became especially known for his 1986 appearance in Stere Gulea's '' Moromeții''. Sand Cliffs ( ro, Faleze de Nisip) is a Romanian motion picture drama released in 1983 and banned four days after its première by the regime of Nicolae Ceaușescu.
