Buck Swamp is a township in northwestern Wayne County, North Carolina, United States near the city of Goldsboro and the town of Pikeville. Education The school system for Buck Swamp is operated by Wayne County Public Schools. The township contains Northwest Elementary School (K-5). Norwayne Middle School (6-8), is located in the nearby town of Fremont, and Charles B. Aycock High School (9-12) is located in the nearby town of Pikeville Community The community contains three volunteer fire departments, Little River, Nahunta, and Pikeville-Pleasant Grove. Princeton, North Carolina
Princeton is a town in Johnston County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,194. Each May the town celebrates Princeton Community Day, a festival dedicated to promoting community involvement and town pride. The town holds municipal elections in November in odd-number years to elect its mayor and town council. History Princeton was incorporated as the town of Boon Hill in 1861, named in homage to the nearby Boon family plantation. It was renamed Princeton in 1873. In 1914 the Gurley Mill was constructed as a corn and feed mill. By 2020 it was the oldest structure in Princeton, until it burned down in November. Interstate 795 (I-795) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It connects the city of Goldsboro to I-95 just south of Wilson, paralleling the northern portion of U.S. Route 117 (US 117). The road runs a concurrency with US 264 and I-587 in the last section of the route. It serves as a primary freeway spur for the city of Goldsboro to the Interstate Highway system, as well part of a major cargo route for the cities of Down East North Carolina, which was a part of the impetus for its designation in 2007. I-795 began in 2007 as a renumbering of the US 117 freeway. Since oversized trucks could not use US 117, the state decided to get the road approved for Interstate designation. Wayne Executive Jetport is a public use airport three miles north of Goldsboro, in Wayne County, North Carolina. The airport is owned by Wayne County. It was formerly Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, when it was owned by both City of Goldsboro and Wayne County. The GWW code is not currently used by the IATA, but it was previously assigned to the former RAF Gatow in Berlin, Germany.
