Bucharest Warriors
Bucharest Warriors is an American football team in Romania, founded in 2007 by a group of football fans from Bucharest. They started meeting in parks and other obscure places to fool around together with the Constanța Sharks, it is the first team to have brought the sport in Romania. The team has achieved 1st place in the editions of the National American Football Championship of Romania, 2010 and 2011. History Because, prior to 2010, there wasn't any federation in the country to organize a national championship, Bucharest Warriors wasn't affiliated to any league and played only friendly games. In 2010, the Bucharest Warriors was invited to its first official competition, the Central European Football League. On April 11, the Warriors hosted Istanbul Cavaliers in a qualification game for the respective competition. Bucharest ( , ; ro, București ) is the capital and largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial centre. It was the first official American football and powerlifting team, with legal status in Cluj-Napoca, founded in February 2010 by a group of American football fans. EFAF Challenge Cup
The EFAF Challenge Cup was an international competition for European American Football clubs. The EFAF Challenge Cup was the third highest level of club competition in the European Federation of American Football (EFAF), behind the European Football League (EFL) and the EFAF Cup. EFAF Challenge Cup Organised by EFAF, this competition is comparable to football's UI Cup. Participants are Champions and Vice-Champions of the "smaller" American Football nations from eastern and southern Europe. The competition was replaced by the IFAF CEI Interleague in 2011. Istanbul Cavaliers was an American football team in Turkey. The team was a semi-pro club team in the national Türkiye Korumalı Futbol Ligi (TKFL, American Football First League of Turkey). It was founded in 2005. The team's head coach was John Douglas Harper. Its colors were navy and white. The team practiced at the athletic fields of Maltepe, Istanbul, Maltepe and Fikirtepe, Göztepe, Istanbul, Göztepe on the Asian part of Istanbul. The club had three teams, A-team, B-team and U19 team. The Central European Football League (CEFL) is a European organization of American football which hosts two international competitions, CEFL Championship and CEFL Cup. The final game of the CEFL Championship playoffs is dubbed CEFL Bowl.
