Brittany Tran
Brittany Tran (born March 8, 1993, in Red Deer, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Calgary. She currently plays third on Team Kayla Skrlik. Career Juniors As a junior, Tran played third for Team Jocelyn Peterman, playing with her since 2003. They represented Alberta at the 2011 Canada Winter Games, where they won a silver medal. In 2012, the team won the Alberta junior championships and represented Alberta at the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, which they won. They represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships, losing in a tiebreaker. The next season, the team played in the 2012 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic, their first women's Grand Slam event, where they won just one game. Red Deer is a city in Alberta, Canada, located midway on the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. Jocelyn Peterman
Jocelyn Andrea Peterman (born September 23, 1993) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She currently plays second for the Kaitlyn Lawes rink. Career Juniors Peterman and her team of Brittany Tran, Becca Konschuh and Kristine Anderson won a silver medal skipping Alberta at the 2011 Canada Winter Games, losing to British Columbia's Corryn Brown in the final. The next season, the team represented Alberta at the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. They won the event, defeating Manitoba's Shannon Birchard rink in the national final. This qualified the team to represent Canada at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships. After posting a 6–3 round robin record, the team lost to Russia's Anna Sidorova in a tie-breaker match, thus failing to make the playoffs. Chelsea Carey
Chelsea Danielle Carey (born September 12, 1984 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She is the 2016 and 2019 Canadian and Alberta women's champion skip and 2014 Manitoba provincial women's champion skip. Career Earlier career Carey curled in six provincial junior championships, but did not win the event. She did win the 2000 Juvenile Provincial championship which she followed up with a silver medal at the 2001 Canadian Juvenile championship. She was also the Manitoba high school provincial champion in 2002. In curling, the lead is the person who delivers the first two stones of the end for their team. On most teams, where the lead does not act as skip or vice, the lead will sweep for each of their teammates shots. Casey Scheidegger
Casey Scheidegger (born January 31, 1988) is a Canadian curler from Lethbridge, Alberta. She is a former provincial junior champion and is currently a skip on the World Curling Tour. Career Juniors Scheidegger won the 2009 Alberta Junior Curling championships with teammates Kalynn Park, younger sister Jessie Haughian, and Jayme Coutts. The rink represented Alberta at the 2009 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where they finished the round robin in second place with a 9–3 record. Kelsey Rocque
Kelsey Elizabeth Rocque (born March 25, 1994) is a Canadian curler residing in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She is a two-time World Junior champion skip. Career In 2013, Rocque played for her first University Championship, at the 2013 CIS/CCA Curling Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia, for the University of Alberta Pandas. There, she would go 6–1 in the round robin and it would earn her a spot in the semifinals. She then, would play the Saint Mary's Huskies and win in an 8–2 decision. She would then go on to play in the final against the Manitoba Bisons and lose in a 9–7 decision. Rocque would win the silver medal, and be named to the First All Star team at the skip position. Grand Slam (curling)
The Grand Slam of Curling (branded as the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling for sponsorship reasons) is a series of curling bonspiels that are a part of the annual World Curling Tour. Grand Slam events offer a purse of at least CAD$100,000, and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the World. The Grand Slam was instituted during the 2001–02 season for men and 2006–07 for women (with the 2006 Players' Championship also considered a Slam), but some of the Grand Slam events have longer histories as bonspiels.
