Brisbane Heat Women
The Brisbane Heat (WBBL) are an Australian women's Twenty20 cricket team based in Albion, Queensland. The Heat compete in the Women's Big Bash League and have won two championships, winning back-to-back titles across WBBL04 and WBBL05. History Formation One of eight founding WBBL teams, the Brisbane Heat are aligned with the men's team of the same name. On 24 June 2015, Queensland Cricket confirmed Andy Richards would be the Heat's inaugural coach. At the official WBBL launch on 10 July, Holly Ferling was unveiled as the team's first-ever player signing. Delissa Kimmince was appointed as Brisbane's inaugural captain. The Heat played their first match against the Melbourne Stars on 5 December at the Junction Oval, losing by 20 runs. Brisbane Heat
The Brisbane Heat are an Australian men's professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in the Big Bash League. The Heat wears a teal uniform and are based in Brisbane in the Australian state Queensland. Their home ground is the Brisbane Cricket Ground, also known as The Gabba. In their second season, they won the Big Bash League for the first time and so qualified for the Champions League Twenty20. Drummoyne Oval
Drummoyne Oval is a multi-use sports ground in the Sydney inner-west suburb of Drummoyne, New South Wales. The ground has been used for international women's cricket matches, domestic men's cricket matches and first grade rugby league as well as local Australian rules football and Rugby Union games. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 people and opened in 1931. Ground Usage Between 1932 and 1934, Balmain played their home games at the ground before moving to Leichhardt Oval. The final first grade game to be played at the ground was in 1950 when Balmain defeated Eastern Suburbs 20–11. In 1995, the ground hosted an Under 19s cricket test match between Australia, featuring a young Brett Lee, and India while in the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup, five games were played there. Nicola Carey
Nicola Jane Carey (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the national cricket team as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm medium pace. At the domestic level, she plays in the Women's National Cricket League for Tasmania and in the Women's Big Bash League for the Hobart Hurricanes. Until 2019, she played in those two competitions for the New South Wales Breakers and the Sydney Thunder, respectively. Laura May Harris (born 18 August 1990) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter for Queensland Fire in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) and Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Career She made her Queensland debut in the 2016–17 WNCL. She has played for Brisbane Heat since the inception of the WBBL in 2015 and hit the winning runs in their title wins in both 2018–19 and 2019–20. In 2021, she was drafted by Northern Superchargers for the inaugural season of The Hundred. She played for them in six games and scored 61 runs in total. Harmanpreet Kaur ( ; born 8 March 1989) is an Indian cricketer who serves as the captain of the India Women's National Cricket Team in all formats . She plays as an all-rounder for the Indian women's cricket team; and was awarded the Arjuna Award for Cricket in the year 2017 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In cricket, a century is a score of 100 or more runs in a single innings by a batsman. The term is also included in "century partnership" which occurs when two batsmen add 100 runs to the team total when they are batting together. Cazalys Stadium
Cazalys Stadium is a sports stadium in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It is situated in the suburb of Westcourt. The stadium is named after the social club which abuts the oval, Cazalys, which itself was named after Australian rules footballer Roy Cazaly. Perth
