Brian Kalbas
Brian Kalbas (born 1966) is an American college tennis coach. He has been the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels women's tennis team since 2003. He played college tennis and started his coaching career at the University of Notre Dame before becoming the head women's tennis coach at the College of William & Mary in 1992. He is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Coach of the Year and the winningest women's tennis coach in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history. College career Kalbas attended the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, where he played for the Fighting Irish tennis team. He compiled a singles record of 85 wins, 54 losses, playing mostly in the team's or spot. The 2023 US Open was the 143rd edition of tennis' US Open (tennis), US Open and the fourth and final Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam event of the year. The 1992 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships were the 46th annual championships to determine the national champions of NCAA Division I men's singles, doubles, and team collegiate tennis in the United States. Stanford defeated Notre Dame in the championship final, 5–0, to claim the Cardinal's twelfth team national title. Carson Tanguilig
Carson Tanguilig (born July 31, 2003) is an American tennis player. She plays college tennis for the North Carolina Tar Heels. In 2023, she helped North Carolina win its first national championship and won the national doubles title with Fiona Crawley. Early life Tanguilig grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia. She went to Johns Creek High School, where she went undefeated as a freshman in her only year of high school tennis. In addition to competing at various national junior tennis events, she played basketball as a starting guard in high school. On the ITF Junior Circuit from 2016 to 2020, she won four doubles titles and reached a peak ranking of No. 507. The 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships were the women's tennis tournaments played from May 5 to May 20, 2023, at campus sites and Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus. It was the 41st edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship. Women's team championship There were 64 teams selected to the women's team championship, 31 of which were automatic qualifiers from each Division I conference. The remaining 33 teams were selected at-large.
