Break Through (book)
''Break Through: From the Death of Environmentalism to the Politics of Possibility'', first published in October 2007, is a book written by Ted Nordhaus and Michael Shellenberger, both long-time environmental strategists. ''Break Through'' is an argument for a positive, "post-environmental" politics that abandons the traditional environmentalism, environmentalist focus on nature protection for a focus on creating a new sustainability, sustainable economy. The book is based on a controversial October-2004 essay by the same authors, "The Death of Environmentalism: Global Warming Politics in a Post-Environmental World." The essay argues that environmentalism is conceptually and institutionally incapable of dealing with climate change and should "die" so that a new politics can be born. The essay was widely discussed among liberals and greens at ''Salon.com, Salon'', ''Grist.org, Grist'', and ''The New York Times''. Overview The album is a four-part concept album based on Wright's then-wife Mildred's battle with depression, and is very much like a classic Pink Floyd concept album in its structure and overall feel. Wright's Pink Floyd bandmate David Gilmour agreed to play on "Breakthrough." However, the approach for the song was changed later on, and Gilmour's performance was not used on the finished release. On the DVD ''David Gilmour in Concert'', a guest appearance is made by Wright, who sings "Breakthrough" accompanied by David Gilmour and his band. The packa ...

Breakthru (song)
"Breakthru" is a song by the British rock band Queen. Written by Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor but credited to Queen, it was released in June 1989 from the album '' The Miracle''. The single reached number seven in the UK, and peaked at number 6 in the Netherlands and Ireland, but failed to chart in the US. The song is notable for its video where the group is performing the song on an open platform of a fast-moving steam train. Song The album version of the song begins with 30 seconds of slow vocal harmony. It was apparently written by Freddie Mercury for a different song which ended up never being released, "A New Life Is Born". It then abruptly changes to a fast-paced rocker, that was written by Roger Taylor. Other song versions were created by either extending or cutting the introduction. On the ''Queen for an Hour'' interview conducted in 1989, Mercury said that this was a great example of two separate bits coming together to make a final track. He commented on how the b ...
