Brays, Missouri
Brays is an unincorporated community in eastern Miller County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is adjacent to Missouri Route 42 on the east side of the Tavern Creek floodplain, approximately three miles northeast of Iberia. History A post office called Brays was established in 1894, and remained in operation until 1923. Route 42 is a highway in central Missouri. Its eastern terminus is at Route 28 south of Belle; its western terminus is at US 54 in Osage Beach. Route Description Route 42 begins at the interchange of US 54 in Osage Beach, at a concurrency with Osage Beach Parkway. It intersects the terminus of Route 134 which allows access to the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. It passes through Brumley and Iberia where it intersects with Route 17 in Iberia. Tavern Creek (Osage River)
Tavern Creek is a stream in Miller and Pulaski counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The stream headwaters arise in Pulaski County north of Missouri Route 133 just to the northwest of Swedeborg and it flows northeast and north passing under Missouri Route U about two miles west of Crocker. The stream enters Miller County and flows under Missouri Route 17 and passes two miles east of Iberia. It flows under Missouri Route 42 and passes west of the communities of Brays and St. Anthony.
