Route 42 is a highway in central Missouri. Its eastern terminus is at Route 28 south of Belle; its western terminus is at US 54 in Osage Beach. Route Description Route 42 begins at the interchange of US 54 in Osage Beach, at a concurrency with Osage Beach Parkway. It intersects the terminus of Route 134 which allows access to the Lake of the Ozarks State Park. It passes through Brumley and Iberia where it intersects with Route 17 in Iberia. Route 42 has a brief concurrency with Route 133. Route 42 passes through Vienna where it intersects with US 63. Route 42 ends at Route 28 south of Belle. Osage Beach, Missouri
Osage Beach is a city in Camden and Miller counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. Most of the city is in Camden County, while a small eastern sliver is in Miller County. The population was 4,351 at the 2010 census. History Osage Beach was incorporated in 1959. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic Osage Beach gained international notoriety when on Memorial Day (May 25, 2020) a large crowd congregated at Lake of the Ozarks. Belle is a city in northeast Maries County and extending north into southeast Osage County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 1,381 at the 2020 census. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Where multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, it is often economically and practically advantageous for them all to be accommodated on a single physical roadway.
