Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof
Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station in the town of Brandenburg an der Havel in the German state of Brandenburg. It lies on the Berlin–Magdeburg railway at the junction with the Brandenburg Towns Railway. It has largely lost its former major role for long-distance passenger services and freight traffic, but it continues to serve regional traffic. A water tower on the site of the former freight yard and a plaque commemorating French forced labourers at the station buildings are heritage-listed. The station was renamed ''Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof'' at the end of World War II, previously it had been called ''Brandenburg Rb'' (Rb for Deutsche Reichsbahn) station.Various timetables It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. Brandenburg An Der Havel
Brandenburg an der Havel () is a town in Brandenburg, Germany, which served as the capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg until it was replaced by Berlin in 1417. With a population of 72,040 (as of 2020), it is located on the banks of the Havel, River Havel. Hanover–Berlin High-speed Railway
The Hanover–Berlin high-speed railway is a high-speed rail line linking the German cities of Hanover and Berlin. The Wolfsburg-Berlin section was built as a new line and runs largely parallel to the Lehrter Bahn (the old Berlin-Hanover railway) opened in 1871. The whole line was opened officially on 15 September 1998 and has been in commercial service since 20 September 1998. Intercity-Express
The Intercity Express (commonly known as ICE ()) is a system of high-speed trains predominantly running in Germany. It also serves some destinations in Austria, Denmark (ceased in 2017 but planned to resume in 2022), France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands, mostly as part of cross border services. Berlin Outer Ring
The Berlin outer ring (german: Berliner Außenring, BAR) is a long double track electrified railway, originally built by the German Democratic Republic to bypass West Berlin in preparation for the building of the Berlin Wall during the division of Germany. It was developed by East Germany for economic, transport policy, and military reasons between 1951 and 1961 and included parts of some older lines (Outer Freight Ring, Jüterbog–Nauen railway, and Michendorf–Großbeeren railway). Without the completion of the outer ring it would not have been possible to build the Berlin Wall, sealing off West Berlin, without disrupting East Germany’s transport links. Potsdam Hauptbahnhof
Potsdam Hauptbahnhof is the main station in the German city of Potsdam, capital of the state of Brandenburg. It lies on the Berlin–Magdeburg railway and was founded in 1838. However, it has had this name only since 1999. It was originally called ''Bahnhof Potsdam'' (Potsdam station) and it was called ''Potsdam Stadt'' (city) station from 1960. The station is the terminus of line S7 of the Berlin S-Bahn, which comes from Ahrensfelde. Köln Hauptbahnhof or Cologne Central Station is a railway station in Cologne, Germany. The station is an important local, national and international transport hub, with many ICE, Thalys and Intercity trains calling there, as well as regional Regional-Express, RegionalBahn and local S-Bahn trains. EuroNight and Nightjet night services also call at the station. It has frequent connections to Frankfurt by way of the Cologne–Frankfurt high-speed rail line, which starts in southern Cologne.
