Boye (band)
Boye (pronounced ; a pun coming from feminine of ''boy'' and from ''boje'', transl. ''colors'') were a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Novi Sad in 1981. Until the late 1980s, Boye were an all-female band, but later lineups also featured male members, with drummer Biljana Babić being the only mainstay member during the band's career. Initially a part of the Yugoslav new wave scene, Boye later moved towards garage rock-influenced alternative rock. The band released four studio albums before disbanding in 2000. History 1980s The band was formed in October 1981 by Biljana Babić (drums), Jasna Manjulov (keyboards, vocals, lyrics author), Ljiljana Radaković (bass guitar) and Klaudija Gavrilović (guitar, vocals). Boye (dog)
Boy (also Boye) was a white hunting poodle belonging to Prince Rupert of the Rhine in the 17th century. Parliamentarian propaganda alleged that the dog was "endowed" with magical powers. Boy accompanied his master into battle and was killed at the Battle of Marston Moor on 2 July 1644. Origins Boy was first given to Prince Rupert when he was imprisoned in the fortress of Linz during the Thirty Years' War.Spencer, p.42. The Earl of Arundel, an Englishman who had grown concerned about Rupert's plight, gave him the animal to keep him company during his confinement. The dog was a rare breed of white hunting poodle. There were probably two poodles, one black and one white, given to Rupert in Germany. The black was lost early on in the war; it was the white survivor who became notorious. Boye Brogeland
Boye Brogeland (born 1973) is a Norwegian professional bridge player. After a successful junior career, he won three Bermuda Bowl medals with the Norwegian team, including the gold in Shanghai 2007, and several North American Bridge Championships. He came into public focus in 2015 when he led a campaign against cheating in bridge, exposing wrongdoing of several top pairs, for which he received public recognition. Biography Brogeland was born in 1973 in Moi, a small town 100 km south of Stavanger in southern Norway. His mother was a schoolteacher and his father was a butcher. He learned to play bridge from his grandparents at the age of 8, and started playing regularly in the local club when he was 12. His mother committed suicide when Boye was eleven, and the tragedy had a "decisive influence on his character", as he put it. He graduated economics from the Norwegian School of Economics.
