Boma Star
SCSV Bomastar, known as Bomastar is a Surinamese football club from Lelydorp that plays in the SVB Eerste Klasse, the second tier of Surinamese football. History Formerly known as HOB (House Of Billiards), SCSV Bomastar were born after the relegation of the former club from the SVB Hoofdklasse after the 2005–06 season. In 2014 the club won the SVB Eerste Klasse title, promoting back to the top flight. Only to be relegated once more by the end of the following season. The SVB Tweede Divisie is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi. The league was previously known as the SVB Eerste Klasse but became the Hoofdklasse for the 2016–17 season after Suriname's top division changed its name from Hoofdklasse to Topklasse, only to be rebranded as the Tweede Divisie for the 2017–18 season. Lelydorp
Lelydorp is the capital city of Wanica District, located in Suriname. With a population of 18,663 (2012), it is the second largest city in Suriname, after Paramaribo. History Pad van Wanica For centuries the Pad van Wanica (path of Wanica) has been the only road that leads from Paramaribo to the south. How this road came to be is unknown. It is speculated that the original inhabitants established the path. Be that as it may, a road was built there, and on either side of the road parcels were issued away. The oldest part of this road is the northern part of it, which is closest to Paramaribo. SVB Hoofdklasse
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie.
