Bollate Centro Railway Station
Bollate Centro railway station is a railway station in Italy. Located in the Milan–Saronno railway, it serves the centre of the town of Bollate. The station is located at Piazza Carlo Marx. The ancient station of 1879 was demolished in 1992, when the actual building was opened. Milan–Saronno railway is a railway line in Lombardy, Italy. History The line was opened by the FMSME (later: Ferrovie Nord Milano) on 25 March 1879. The line was completely revamped during the 90's of the 20th century, building four tracks and new metro-type stations. The line is fully integrated in the Milan suburban railway network, with two standard services with Central Milan and the Milan passerby railway, while regional services with Novara, Malpensa, Varese and Como run directly between Milan and Saronno. Trenord is a railway company which is responsible for the operation of regional passenger trains in Lombardy. The company was established by the two main railway companies in Lombardy, Trenitalia and Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), to manage train operations in the region. The equity is equally divided between the two companies. History ''Trenitalia LeNord'' (TLN) was founded in Milan on 4 August 2009 from the merging of LeNord, company owned by FNM, and the Lombardy regional division of Trenitalia. The first step of the new company was the opening of a new maintenance and cleaning center for trains in Lombardy, the biggest in Italy. Milano Cadorna is a commuter railway station located near the Castello Sforzesco in Milan, Italy. History The original station, built in wood in the style of a chalet, was opened in 1879. This was enlarged in 1920, but the station was destroyed during the bombing raids of the city in the Second World War. The S1 is a commuter rail route forming part of the Milan suburban railway service ( it, Servizio ferroviario suburbano di Milano), which converges on the city of Milan, Italy. The service operates over the Milan–Saronno, Milan Passante, and Milan–Bologna lines. Like all other Milan suburban railway service routes, it is operated by Trenord. The S3 is a commuter rail route forming part of the Milan suburban railway service ( it, Servizio ferroviario suburbano di Milano), which converges on the city of Milan, Italy. The service runs over the Milan–Saronno railway, the oldest line owned by the Ferrovie Nord Milano. Like all other Milan suburban railway service routes, it is operated by Trenord.
