Bogusław Mec (21 January 1947 – 11 March 2012) was a Polish singer, songwriter, composer, and artist. Bogusław Mec was born in Tomaszów Mazowiecki Tomaszów Mazowiecki (, yi, טאָמעשעוו or ''Tomashuv'') is a city in central Poland with 60,529 inhabitants (2021). The fourth most populous city in the Łódź Voivodeship and the second with free public transport. In Tomaszów Mazowiec ... in 1947. His career began in 1969, at ''Łódzka Giełda Piosenki'' song contest. In 1972, at X National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, he received a Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Poland), Ministry of Culture and Art award for the song "Jej portret". In the 1980s, he toured the US, Soviet Union, USSR, Yugoslavia, Spain, and East Germany. Since 2001, he had suffered from leukemia and died on 11 March 2012, at a hospital in Zgierz. He was 65. The National Festival of Polish Song in Opole ( pl, Krajowy Festiwal Piosenki Polskiej w Opolu, KFPP) is an annual music festival in Opole, Poland. Together with the Sopot Festival it is one of the two most important music festivals in Poland. The Opole Festival is meant as a summary of the past year's achievements by Polish song writers and performers. It is also the most important cultural event in Opole, with a tradition going back 50 years. Leukemia ( also spelled leukaemia and pronounced ) is a group of blood cancers that usually begin in the bone marrow and result in high numbers of abnormal blood cells. These blood cells are not fully developed and are called ''blasts'' or ''leukemia cells''. Symptoms may include bleeding and bruising, bone pain, fatigue, fever, and an increased risk of infections.
