Bob Carolgees
Bob Carolgees (born Robert Frederick Johnson; 12 May 1948) is a British comedy entertainer who appeared on the Saturday morning TV series '' Tiswas'' and then later in its adult versions '' O.T.T.'' and ''Saturday Stayback''. He is best known for appearing with a canine puppet named Spit the Dog. Carolgees also worked for eight years on the TV show '' Surprise Surprise'' and on children's game show ''Concentration''. In popular culture he has cameo roles with Spit the Dog. Career In the early 1970s Carolgees ran a DJ and modelling school in Liverpool. After a five-week course, DJs and models were tested in front of an audience at the Sportsmans Club in central Liverpool. He first appeared in a guest spot on '' Tiswas'' on 31 March 1979. Tiswas
''Tiswas'' (; an acronym of "Today Is Saturday: Watch And Smile") was a British children's television series that originally aired on Saturday mornings from 5 January 1974 to 3 April 1982, and was produced for the ITV network by ATV. It was created by ATV continuity announcer Peter Tomlinson (later to become a regular presenter on the show) following a test period in 1973 when he tried out a few competitions and "daft stuff" between the programmes. Overview ''Tiswas'' began life as a 'links' strand between many 'filler' programmes, such as cartoons and old films. The popularity of the presenters' links soon eclipsed the staple diet of filler. Hull New Theatre
The Hull New Theatre is a theatre in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1939 as a successor to the Hull Repertory Theatre Company. The Hull New Theatre features musicals, opera, ballet, drama, children's shows and one-night performances, with a highlight of the year being the annual Christmas pantomime. The Hull New Theatre is now a Grade II listed building. The theatre closed on 4 January 2016, after the December 2015 pantomime season, for a major refit in preparation of Hull being the UK City of Culture in 2017. Though £5 million of funding from the Arts Council was not granted Hull City Council intended to press ahead with the £11.7 million project. Phoenix Nights
''Phoenix Nights'' is a British sitcom about The Phoenix Club, a working men's club in the northern English town of Bolton, Greater Manchester. The show is a spin-off from the "In the Club" episode of the spoof documentary series '' That Peter Kay Thing'', and in turn was followed by the spin-off ''Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere''. It was produced by Goodnight Vienna Productions and Ovation Entertainments, and broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK. The show was written by Neil Fitzmaurice, Peter Kay and Dave Spikey. Peter Kay
Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English actor, comedy writer and stand-up comedian. He has written, produced and acted in several television and film projects, and has written three books. Born and brought up in Bolton, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford. He began working part-time as a stand-up comedian, winning the North West Comedian of the Year award. In 1997 he won Channel 4's '' So You Think You're Funny'' contest and the following year was nominated for a Perrier Award for his show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. ''Trisha Goddard'', formerly called ''Trisha'', is a British tabloid talk show hosted by Trisha Goddard. It initially aired on ITV in the mornings from 1998 to 2004 before moving to Channel 5, where it was broadcast until 2010. ''That Peter Kay Thing'' is a series of six spoof documentaries shown on Channel 4 in 2000. It was written by Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Neil Fitzmaurice and Gareth Hughes, and was directed by Andrew Gillman. The series was narrated by Andrew Sachs. Set in and around Bolton, each episode functions as a self-contained documentary following a different set of characters, many of them played by Kay. The pilot episode, "The Services", was shown in 1998 as an episode of ''Comedy Lab'', a series which showcases pilots of experimental comedy shows. Many of the characters went on to appear in the successful spin-off series ''Phoenix Nights''. Spitting
Spitting is the act of forcibly ejecting saliva or other substances from the mouth. The act is often done to get rid of unwanted or foul-tasting substances in the mouth, or to get rid of a large buildup of mucus.
