Blinov Sports And Concerts Complex
Blinov Sports and Concerts Complex (Russian: Спортивно-концертный комплекс им. Виктора Блинова short form: СКК "Блинова" previous name: СКК "Иртыш") is an indoor sporting arena located in Omsk, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 5,500. It was the home arena of the Avangard Omsk ice hockey team since 1987 till 2007. Today it is a home arena of women's volleyball club Omichka and Avangard affiliated MHL-B team Yastreby Omsk. The construction began back in the 70s, but later was postponed and frozen for several years. The complex was finished only in 1986 and hosted the first hockey games in February 1987. Viktor Blinov
Viktor Nikolayevich Blinov (September 1, 1945 in Omsk, Soviet Union – July 9, 1968 in Moscow, Soviet Union) was an ice hockey player who played in the Soviet Hockey League. He played for HC Spartak Moscow. He was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1968. He played in his first international on February 26, 1965 against Canada. He won a gold medal in the 1968 Winter Olympics. He scored ten goals in 32 internationals, the last of which was on February 17, 1968. Hockey Club Avangard (russian: ХК Авангард, links=no, Vanguard), also known as Avangard Omsk, is a Russian professional ice hockey team from Omsk. It is a member of the Chernyshev Division in the Eastern Conference of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Franchise history Early years of Omsk hockey (1950–1972) The first amateur ice hockey teams in Omsk began to appear in 1950, formed by local bandy players. The National Junior Hockey League (NMHL) (formerly Junior Hockey League Division B) (russian: Национальная молодежная хоккейная лига (НМХЛ)) is the second level of the Junior Hockey League, the KHL's junior ice hockey league. The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation.
