Birla Senior Secondary School
Birla School Pilani, also known as BSP & BHS (old name) in Pilani, Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan is a boarding school in India. Earlier it was known as Birla Senior Secondary School. The school is considered to be a royal school along with a few other schools in India, due to its long patroness history and has educated some well known royal families of India during British Raj. It also has a prominent alumni network in India due to its rich old history. History BSP was established in 1901. The school, the oldest Birla Institution in Pilani, was started as a ‘Pathshala’ in 1901, by Seth Shiv Narayanji Birla for the education of his grandsons Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla and Shri Rameshwar Das Birla. Pilani
Pilani is a small city situated in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, India. Administratively, it forms a part of Jhunjhunu district. The place became popular since the establishment of BITS Pilani.The city is also the home to some of the oldest schools of independent India. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education. Rameshwar Das Birla (also Rameshwardas Birla) (1892–1973) was an Indian entrepreneur. He was second son of Baldeo Das Birla and the father of Madhav Prasad Birla and Gajanan Birla. He is known for founding hospitals & educational institutions in Mumbai, Kolkata and Pilani. Birla's decision in 1922 to remarry following the death of his first wife caused a split in the Maheshwari caste of which his family were a member. They were outcast by the community, who doubted that his new wife was herself a Maheshwari and thus believed that Birla had broken the caste rules relating to marriage. Ghanshyam Das Birla (10 April 1894 – 11 June 1983) was an Indian businessman and member of the Birla Family. Birla family history Ghanshyam Das Birla was born on 10 April 1894 at Pilani town in Jhunjhunu district, in the region known as Rajputana, as a member of the Marwari Maheshwari community. His father was Raja Baldevdas Birla. In 1884 A.D. Baldeo Das Birla went to Bombay in search of new avenues of trade.
