''Oblation'' is the third studio album by Florida sludge metal band Floor released on April 25, 2014 on the Season of Mist label. The first original material since their previous ''self-titled'' album 12 years before, ''Oblation'' followed the band's reunion in 2013 after disbanding in 2003. Some critics noted similarities between the album and songs recorded by guitarist Steve Brooks' other band Torche. Background After disbanding in 2003, a box set comprising earlier unreleased material was made available by Robotic Empire Records in 2010. Noticing their increased popularity at live shows promoting the box set, Floor officially reunited in March 2013 and announced their intention to tour and release a new album through Season of Mist. Floor is an American doom/sludge metal band from Miami, Florida, U.S. that was formed in 1992 by Steve Brooks, Anthony Vialon and Betty Monteavaro with Brooks and Vialon being the only constant members. The band has released three full length studio albums to date: ''Floor'', ''Dove'' and ''Oblation'' and one EP: ''Madonna''. History ''Floor'' and ''Dove'' (1992 – 2013) Initially from Miami, Floor was formed in 1992 by guitarist Steve Brooks, bassist and guitarist Anthony Vialon and drummer George Rios. Betty Monteavaro replaced Rios on drums in 1993 after the first song was written; Rios went on to play in Brethren, Crestfallen and Bird of Ill Omen (with ex-members of Morning Again and Shai Hulud). Kurt Ballou (born February 1, 1974) is an American musician and producer based in Massachusetts, best known as the guitarist for hardcore punk band Converge and for his prolific recording and production work at his own GodCity Studio. Early and personal life Kurt Ballou started playing saxophone in elementary school. He performed in jazz band, concert band and orchestra, dabbling between baritone saxophone, bassoon and bass clarinet. Ballou was accepted to join the Hartford School of Music, but he opted to study aerospace engineering instead. His father used to have a guitar that Ballou played occasionally, but it did not interest him until a school friend gave him Slayer tapes around the age of sixteen. Sleep is an American heavy metal band from San Jose, California. Guitarist Matt Pike and bassist and vocalist Al Cisneros have been the only constant members throughout its history, with several changes of drummers throughout their history. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry.
