Bima Train
Bima Train is an executive class train that is operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in Java with the service running between Gambir Station (GMR) - Surabaya Gubeng Station (SGU) and vice versa. ''Bima'' was initially an acronym for "Biru Malam" lit. Night Blue. Uniquely, this train is not through the northern route, but through the southern route, because to increase the occupancy of passengers who take the train route Jakarta-Surabaya through the southern route. Although the Satwa class, KA Bima is an Argo class Executive train and uses the Argo train, in this case is the ex-Argo Bromo train. The GE CM20EMP diesel-electric locomotives (also known as CC206 in Indonesia) are owned by Kereta Api Indonesia (Indonesian Railways Co.) and built by GE Transportation. The GE CM20EMPs are multipurpose locomotives, not only for hauling passenger trains (i.e. executive class, business class, or economy class), but also freight trains. The locomotives' operation have started in 2013, and become Indonesian Railway's main workhorses for hauling trains. Gambir Train Station ( id, Stasiun Gambir, station code: GMR) is a major railway station in Gambir, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. The station is located on the eastern side of Merdeka Square. It was built during the Dutch East Indian era and renovated in the 1990s. Currently Gambir Station serves as a terminus for most intercity trains operating across Java Island. Surabaya Gubeng Station, known as Spoorwegstation Goebeng Soerabaja during the Dutch East Indies era, is a railway station located at Gubeng Station Street, Pacarkeling, Tambaksari, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. This station is the biggest railway station in Surabaya and East Java, and is a departure from the main railway in Surabaya, especially towards the south and east, while the train that passes through the northern route, such as majors train Jakarta via Semarang, departed from Surabaya Pasar Turi Station. ''Argo Bromo Anggrek'' is the name of executive and luxury train jointly operated by Kereta Api Indonesia between Surabaya and Jakarta in Indonesia.
