Bill Crothers Secondary School
Bill Crothers Secondary School is an athletic based High school in the community of Unionville in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It was the newest secondary school in the York Region District School Board for a number of years, since 2008. Named for the former Olympic athlete and Chair of the York Region District School Board, Bill Crothers, the school opened its doors to Grade 9 and 10 students in August 2008. The school is and cost an estimated $32 million to build. The school was formerly an 18-hole golf course, Unionville Golf Centre, opened in 1961. Unionville, Ontario
Unionville is a suburban district and former village in Markham, Ontario, Canada, 2 km (2.5 mi) west of Markham Village (the City of Markham's historic downtown), and 33 km (20.5 mi) northeast of Downtown Toronto. The boundaries of Unionville are not well-defined. Several neighbourhoods claim to be part of it however, this has been disputed between the various wards. Unionville was founded north of 16th Avenue in 1794, and many of the farms on and around Kennedy Road. The Unionville Ratepayers Association designated a newer street, Rodick Road, as its western boundary, in the 1980s. Travis Dermott
Travis Dermott (born December 22, 1996) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Dermott was rated as a top prospect projected as a possible first round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft but was ultimately selected in the second round, 34th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has previously played for the Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks. In junior, Dermott was drafted by the Erie Otters in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Draft. His tenure with the team stretched over three seasons and he was named to the 2014 First All-Rookie Team. The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) is a Crown agency of the Government of Ontario in Canada. It was legislated into creation in 1996 in response to recommendations made by the Royal Commission on Learning in February 1995. Breanne Wilson-Bennett (born March 5, 1996) is a Canadian ice hockey forward, currently playing with the Toronto Six of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Alain Issa Omari Sargeant (born 27 November 1995) is a footballer who plays as a defender. Born in Canada, he represents the Saint Kitts and Nevis national team. Early life Sargeant began his career with North Toronto Nitros, playing for the club from 2007 until 2010. Mariah Madigan (born 16 December 1993) is a Canadian retired individual and double-mini trampoline gymnast who competed at the international level. Madigan competed at the world championships, including at the 2010 and 2011 Trampoline World Championships. At the 2011 world championships she won the bronze medal in the team event and the gold medal in the double-mini team event. Marc Liegghio (born February 13, 1997) is a professional Canadian football placekicker and punter for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Amateur career Liegghio played U Sports football for the Western Mustangs from 2015 to 2019. He sat out the 2015 season due to injury, but became the team's placekicker and punter in 2016 where he was named an OUA Second Team All-Star.
