Bijoy TV
Bijoy TV ( bn, বিজয় টিভি; , in reference to Victory Day) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable television channel based in Banglamotor, Dhaka. This channel was established by former mayor of Chittagong A. B. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury. Current Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is one of the shareholders and is the former managing director of Bijoy TV. History The channel originally began broadcasting illegally in the mid-2000s, but was later shut down in 2007 after order from the government. Later, in 2009, mayor of Chittagong A. B. M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury announced the relaunch of Bijoy TV. It was then granted a broadcasting license by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission alongside several other privately owned Bangladeshi television channels on 20 October 2009. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. Television Channels In Bangladesh
Around 45 privately owned television channels were permitted by the Government of Bangladesh as of 2019, of which thirty four are currently on air. Five television channels, namely CSB News, Channel 1, Diganta Television, Islamic TV, and Channel 16, have been taken off air. Founded in 1953, it is the oldest newspaper, and one of the most circulated newspapers in Bangladesh. This newspaper format is broadsheet and is printed by Ittefaq Group of Publications Limited. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (''Bangabandhu-1'') is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite. It is named after the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 12 May 2018. The satellite was the first payload launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 launch vehicle. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) ( bn, বাংলাদেশ টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশন) is an independent commission founded under the Bangladesh Telecommunication Act, 2001 (Act # 18 of 2001).
