The Women's individual competition of the Beijing 2022 Olympics was held on 7 February, at the National Biathlon Centre, in the Zhangjiakou cluster of competition venues, north of Beijing, at an elevation of . The Olympic champion was Denise Herrmann of Germany. Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet of France won the silver medal, and Marte Olsbu Røiseland of Norway the bronze. Biathlon
The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. It is treated as a race, with contestants skiing through a cross-country trail whose distance is divided into shooting rounds. Yuliia Dzhima ( uk, Юлія Валентинівна Джима; born 19 September 1990) is a Ukrainian World Cup level biathlete. She is Olympic champion in women's relay, multiple World championships medalist. She is one of the most successful Ukrainian biathletes of 2010's. Career She took up biathlon in Kyiv, where she lives. At the beginning of her sporting career she wasn't seen as a promising rising athlete. She didn't show good results in skiing so trainers were doubtful whether she would be a good biathlete. Svetlana Igorevna Mironova (russian: Светлана Игоревна Миронова; born 22 February 1994) is a Russian biathlete. Career Mironova was engaged in cross-country skiing until 2011, when she decided to switch competing in biathlon. At the 2013 Junior World Championships in Obertilliach, she became the relay champion alongside teammates Victoria Slivko and Uliana Kaisheva. In the same championship, she won bronze in the sprint, was 11th in the pursuit and 24th in the individual race. In 2014, at the U21 European Championships, she took second place in the sprint and became the champion in the pursuit. Monika Hojnisz (born 27 August 1991), now Monika Hojnisz-Staręga, is a Polish biathlete. She competes in the Biathlon World Cup. Hojnisz won a bronze medal at the Biathlon World Championships 2013 (12.5 km mass start). In December 2018 she scored her best World Cup finish, taking second place in the 15 km individual at the Pokljuka round of the World Cup. Vanessa Hinz (born 24 March 1992) is a former German biathlete and cross-country skier. Hinz started in her first world cup races at the end of the 2012/13-season. At the 2013 European Championships she won a gold medal with the German relay team. In 2014, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
